Sally jumped up from the table and raced over to the group before I could move. The man pulled back his arm to punch the kid again.
“Stay here.” I told Pepper and raced after Sally. She tried to tear the man off him, but someone pulled her off. They hit her in the face and threw her on the ground. He lifted his foot to stomp on her.
“Knock it off!” My voice boomed through the room, and they all went quiet and froze.
“Who do you think you are? You come into my pack and tell me what to do?” The man said as he stood over the kid. He squared up his shoulders, and I readied myself to fight.
