The Attack

Chapter 8- the attack

Leilands pov

Sitting in my office when the alarm goes off. We are under attack. I jump shift into my wolf and head to the north boarder. It's 10 rouges. That's easy. So I thought, when I got there I noticed they were hybrids. That is very bad. I need to tell Lee as soon as possible. The guards and I took them down except one. He was taking to the dungeon, so Lee could talk to him. Lee had told me where they were going, so I ran there in wolf form. I made it in 10 minutes and I could smell a human, so I shifted back and ran out of threes. I saw Koa protecting Cass and Lee was protecting the human. I told them what had happened. Koa immediately told Cass to go home. Lee turned around to tell the human to go with Cass. I saw her. It's been 5 years since I have seen her. I turned quickly and ran back. Lee was yelling at me through the link. All I could say was classified. f**k my life, if she was here then it's bad.

Lees pov

Leiland busted through the trees in a panic. There was an attack on the northern border, like nothing he had ever seen before. Koa turned to Cass and told her to get home now. He walked towards Leiland. As I turned towards Katrina, Leiland looked shocked when he saw her right now. He turned and ran off. I told her to please go with Cass and I would see her around. Made a mental note about it. We left and finally caught up with Leiland. I mind linked him and all he said was classified. What the fuxk? I tried to order him, but he kept saying classified I let it go for now.

Kats pov.

It's been five years since I have seen Leiland, which makes more since. That's why Lee and Koa look familiar. Selene trusted him, so I know I’m safe for now. Cass apologized for everything and I told her not to worry. Just wanted to know if there is anything I can do to help. She said no it meant a crazy person broke in trying to get to Lee like normal. I laughed. When we got back to Town, she headed home and I head to the diner to get food. After I got it, I went home and ate while thinking that this was getting worse, then showered and crashed.

Unknown pov

I sent 10 rouge hybrids out to attack the king's northern border to see what needed to be adjusted. I had my protégé that works with me to watch and let me know what needed to be done. I will soon know what our weaknesses are, then it will be back to the lab to fix them. I’m going to make them unstoppable. I'm going to be the next Alpha King you just watch. I called my protégé when I got the chance and told him I wanted a new batch of hybrids that are stronger. He said okay and I hung up. None of my pets know who I am, so this will be the best take over in our kingdom. I have killed the only ones that have seen me. We will be ready to attack really soon.

Leilands pov.

We get back to the pack, Lee goes straight to the dungeon. Koa and I follow suit and that is when we see the hybrid. Sitting there looking scared, Lee's aura is coming off in waves because he is beyond pissed. Why did you attack my kingdom? Lee says. The rouges response sent a chill down our spines. What kingdom, how the hell am I a werewolf and crave blood at the same time, and for that matter, how is any of this actually real? I was in a state of disbelief, so I approached the door and asked him what he meant by that? Lee was deep in thought. Well, I was walking down the beach with some friends one moment and the next I’m strapped to a table while some dude in a lab coat injected me with random s**t making me feel like I was dying. I must have passed out cause the next thing I know is that it had been 7 days and I could shift and crave blood like a vampire. At this point, I just want to go home. He placed his head in his hands and slowly and quietly cried. Lee was more pissed because he just connected the dots, this guy was turned against his will, and every human and werewolf that had been kidnapped had been turned. While Lee was figuring that out, it dawned on me that this guy's kidnapper was the same as Kat's, and now they are here in North Cascade.

Lees pov.

I'm in shock after hearing everything the rouge just said. I need to speak to the elders immediately. The three of us leave. I told the guard that he was to be treated nicely and cared for 3 meals a day and regular showers till I could prepare something for him. They bow and start to tend to him. Koa and Leiland both look at me but understand why I'm doing this. We head straight to my office where I call the elders and told them I’m holding an emergency meeting as soon as they all get here, they said 10 minutes. My brothers and I made our way to the conference room to wait for them. All the elders arrive right on time. All the elders except one have been super helpful through everything. Then there is the last one. He has gone against everything we have suggested. Elder Marcus is our uncle, Cass' father. He even went as far as trying to take over when our parents died, but since I was old enough, I was able to take over. Leiland had already begun explaining everything we had learned. They gasp in surprise and then start yelling and complaining about how we can trust the word of one rouge. Leiland stands up and says he can't tell them much, but he isn't the first one I have seen that has almost a similar story and, before you say, they could have made it up together. The first one was 5 years ago and this one is just today, so this isn't a joke. Again they started screaming and yelling. I stood up and yelled ENOUGH!!!! They looked at me in confusion and surprise. I apologize for yelling but we have a serious matter and we need a plan. We need to make sure every pack across the US and Canada knows what's going on. Also, we all need to work together to fix this problem.

Leilands pov.

After all the elders leave, I’m sitting there telling Koa and Lee that I got a weird feeling from uncle, but they said it's normal because he irritates me, so I just brush it off. I look at Lee, and he has a look of concern but doesn't say anything. As always, Koa is sitting there looking board. I don't understand how he acts like none of this matters to him. Midnight starts to growl, wanting to lash out at him, but I hold him back. We figure out our next steps and call it a night. I got back to my room and sat down going over everything we learned today and how that kid went through all of that alone. I make a silent promise to all of them that we will find and take out the one responsible for all of this. I decided to take a quick shower before bed, I got out and got dressed in my gray sweats that hung low on my hips. I crawl into bed and started drifting to sleep and the next thing I know I’m in a field with flowers and a small stream. Now what is it? That is all I can say.
