They had agreed earlier that there was no need for Simon to accompany them across to the museum. If he ended up bumping into the janitor Hareb again, it might arouse unnecessary attention that they could ill afford if their plan was to have any chance of success.
“How long do you think you’ll be?” Simon asked Anna as he held the door for them.
“Not long – I should be back in twenty to thirty minutes,” she replied.
“Ok – I’ll wait for you here.”
A few minutes later, Philip accompanied closely by Anna, crossed the busy street to the main doorway of the Cairo Museum. Philip paid their entrance fee and they entered the grand foyer where they immediately blended into the background of mingling tourists admiring the ancient treasures on display.
