Chapter Forty-Six-3

2055 Words

Hope disappeared in that instant when she recognised Conchos’ malicious staring eyes peering in. Her body quivered; it felt as if rigor mortis had set in except for the occasional uncontrollable muscle spasms. Petrified, her eyes fixed on his blank, emotionless face as he reached in and violently dragged his victim out the tomb. Heaving her body over the side, he let her go and she fell head first onto the hard stone floor. Stunned by the impact, her eyes rolled as if she were about to pass out. Blood trickled down her face as her teeth pierced her bottom lip. Conchos pulled out some black tape from his pocket; he knew by the state she was in that she was not going to put up a struggle but he wasn’t taking any chances. Her courage and nerve could return at a later point during the ritual.
