The Israeli Government classified the explosion as confidential and did their best to play down any approaches or questions on the subject from concerned foreign governments. Instead, they entered into protracted discussions with the Vatican to ascertain what had really happened on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. Both parties had cooperated well together during the fifties when the ancient Qumran Scrolls were first discovered but for some reason the Israelis never felt that they received a satisfactory explanation for the unusual explosion in the middle of some barren mountains.
