CHAPTER I: Letter from No One

1072 Words
In a realm far, far away with witches, werewolves and all kind of creatures: Inside that cold cave Lyanna felt so alone and terrified. Watching her friend Mike lying next to her unconscious made her feel like she had been doing everything wrong since the very beginning. Every time she heard the professor speak she realized that she had spent this whole year as a chess piece in his game, however she dared not say a word. Sitting there on a corner thinking how all this had started 13 years ago when someone had dropped her in the doorstep of a family. *** Even though it was cold and foggy, it was a magical night. The wind was dancing with golden leaves. It was 3rd October. Professor Mikael was in a hurry to go to the "Wild Hunt" meeting when in the doorstep he saw a beautiful baby girl sleeping covered in a blue blanket where the name 'Lyanna' was sewn with a golden thread. Mikael a short man with dark hair, dark eyes and has an abnormally large nose almost stepped on her, but luckily he noticed the baby girl one step ahead of him. "Who on earth is that stupid to leave a baby in this kind of weather in front of this strange place?"-thought Mikael, looking at the baby girl with pity. Of course he couldn't leave her there so he grabbed her in his arms and went inside the big brown door. When he arrived at the first stairwell he noticed that with the girl there was a letter too. He opened the letter and read it slowly: "Dear Sir/Madame, First thank you so much for taking Lyanna! Please take care of her as she were your own, but if you can't then we beg you to send her somewhere safe and send this letter to them too. We want you to know that she is a werewolf. Just in case you need her birthday is on 4th August 2007. Please when she's old enough tell her that we couldn't protect her and all we did was to give her, her best chance. Again thank you so much. Lyanna's parents." "They left their child giving that little information and what is it that they couldn't protect her from? Well I guess Alder can take care of her, after all he's a werewolf too and we can't leave such a beautiful poor creature without a place to call home now, can we?"-though Mikael, smiled and entered the meeting room. Behind the large wooden door with golden engravings on 5th floor there was a big dining table with 13 people sitting around it, the walls were light green and in the ceiling there was a big chandelier with diamonds around it. "I was beginning to think you've lost your way Mikael"-said Marcel, the man sitting at the head of the table, and as he lowered his eyes he noticed that Mikael was holding the baby. "And who is the guest you've brought with you?" Marcel is one of the strongest and smartest wizards in 100 years, after William the Great, unfortunately not the handsomest. His forehead is really big and rumor has it that he practices dark magic, however no one has been able to prove that. Now Mikael was so nervous because everyone was staring at him and the walls of the room looked like they are going to collapse any second. "Uh...well...um...she...the baby isn't mine...I mean she was at the front door when I came." "So you're saying that someone just let their child on the front door of a place like this without any reason why?"-said the man sitting on the left of Marcel, Addison. "Well they did also leave this letter Addison."-said Mikael while pulling out the letter that came with Lyanna and Catherine-Adison's wife whispered something to the woman standing next to her who seemed to be her sister. After reading the letter again, Alder agreed to train Lyanna if they decided to keep her. Alder looked like such a weird person. He was covered in hair and his face looked almost like a werewolf, because a witch put a curse on him as a revenge to his parents when he was only 10. Despite his look Alder is really sweet and kind. “Catherine, Alder correct me if I'm wrong but Lyanna is Ethan's age and a new werewolf has it easier to transform if they have a friend"-said Marcel. "There is nothing to correct there Marcel."-both Catherine and Alder replied at the same time. "So be it then Lyanna will grow up like one of us and will learn to control her transformation. Anyone disagrees?"-Lord Marcel asked his followers. "But Marcel kids should have someone... one person to take care of them, at least human kids should I don't know about werewolves."-said Catherine worried. "It's Lord Marcel to you Catherine!"-Marcel corrected Catherine with a tone as if he was making a threat. "Yes werewolf kids should have a mother too."-said Alder without hesitating at all. "But here we have only one mother"-said Addison, really disturbed. "Well that's up to you and Catherine, Addison. You can raise her telling her the truth and the transformation would be even more easier, however if you don't want to we can pay a mother."-Alder said waiting for Addison to reply, but at his surprise Catherine talked. "Pay a mother? Are you out of your senses?"-yelled Catherine looking at Alder. Addison and Catherine King got married 2 years ago they are both blonde and they are the richest people in United Cities Republic. They looked at each other and Catherine did something with her head signaling "come on". Addison sighed and then said: "Fine we will take the girl." Everyone was happy, Addison and Catherine took Lyanna and then they continued with the meeting although it was almost over. As the years passed by Catherine and Addison raised Lyanna as their daughter. When she turns 10 Alder told her the truth about being a werewolf and they told her about the night Mikel had found her in their doorstep, after a lot of listening and reflecting Lyanna asked to see the letter her parents had left with her.
