Chapter Six- Bianca Shiola’s POV

1434 Words
The drive to Princess Mom's house was quite a distance, to say the least. It took us a long time before we finally got there, and when we did, Princess had parked her Jeep, and we left, heading to the front door of their mansion. When we opened the door and walked, I was met with maids, butlers, and cooks waiting at the entrance. I wondered if she was some sort of royalty or something like an old, wealthy individual. Because the way that they welcomed her made her feel like a young princess of an old, wealthy family. I just walked alongside her as she strolled like she owned the house, which her parents did own. When we moved further away from them, her mother and father were waiting there for us. As we got closer to where her parents were, I greeted them and went to formally introduce myself to her parents. Good day, sir and ma. I greeted them. My name is Bianca Shiola, and I am from Delta State, I said. Welcome Bianca, Her mother beamed and said to me. So, you are the young lady who saved my daughter? She asked me. Yes, ma, I said. I was the one who saved your daughter, and I couldn't let go when I saw how much distress she was in. Thank you, my child, her mother said to me. Let's go eat our dinner together before it gets cold. While I walked, Princess dragged me side by side with her, and I followed suit until we reached the dining room. As I got there, Princess sat beside me, and as I was about to eat my food on my plate, Princess swapped mine with hers. She stated that she wanted mine when I asked her why she swapped my food for hers. Apologising for her swapping my food, she promised me that on our next outing, she would get me any food of my choice at any restaurant. And I accepted it, as a foodie like I am, and began eating. This food tastes so good that I complimented whoever made it. And I turned beside Princess and began whispering and asking her who was the person who cooked this delicious dinner. She told me that it was their cook who had prepared such delicious food. I continued eating until her mom asked me if I still wanted more than what I was eating. And before I could respond, Princess had said a big no on my behalf. The room became tense after that, and everyone continued eating their meals in silence. When we were done eating the food that was present on the dinner table, I had put it at the back of my mind to ask Princess why she was so upset and rude to her mother. We walked to the living room, where we spent some time talking and chatting while watching television together. After a while, Princess and her mother excused themselves from us to talk privately about something they didn't want anyone to know. I accepted it and stayed in the living room and continued watching a television series, Riona, that is an original series made by Multichoice, Nigeria. For about two hours, I stayed watching other series after several episodes finished. Princess came out with her mother, walked to where I was, and asked me if I was ready to get home. And I said yes, and we said our goodbyes and left. While still driving back home, I asked Princess why she had done that, and she still said that she wasn't rude and that they both had a strained relationship. And I stopped asking her further than she had told me, and I turned and faced the driving mirror as she drove. Hey, Bia, she called me. I didn't mean to sound rude to you, but my mother and I have begun having a strained relationship due to something that happened, and now I can't tell you. I really don't trust you that much, and I have to be honest and careful until I finally trust you enough to confide in you about things about me. Please don't take it too personally and just know that next time, I will try and be nice to my mother in your presence and others, she said. Is that okay with you? she had asked me. So, if that's all right for you, then do you want me to turn on the radio to listen to some music because you seem to like it? Yeah, you can, I said. And thanks for willing to listen to me. I smiled and sang along to the music that played and rapped in gibberish about the song that played. She laughed at my hysterical way of rapping, and the ride didn't take long until we entered a house that I knew didn't belong to me. When she parked the Jeep, I asked her whose house we were parked in, and she said that it was hers. Why didn't you even bother to ask me? I called her out. Why didn't you bring me here late this night? I began asking her to be sure I wasn't getting killed. You don't blame the little ole lady who was trying to protect herself from a girl; I just knew for two days, I started rambling about and asking her. Hey, do you really think that I wanted to poison you, or rather, kill you, when I would have done that without wasting any time, batting an eyelid, or battling an eyelid on killing you? I brought you to come live with me as you would be stating your job as my PA tomorrow. So, I thought and decided that rather than you spending money, coming back late after work at night. It isn't better than hearing an unwanted story about something that happened to you in the night when you know, that you could've prevented it from happening. Then she turned to where I sat and said, Can we go now, or do you want to sit down here thinking about me killing you? And next time, never again say that I killed you when I did promise you that I would never hurt you. Don't ever make me go back on my own word, because if I do, I won't hesitate to turn a blind eye. I am sorry, Princess. I apologized. I am really sorry for having such thoughts, and I promise never to doubt you when you did have a good heart to let me stay at your home when we just met for a short time. That's fine, Princess said. Let's get in before the rain starts falling, as the weather has changed and it seems like it will start raining any time from now. Oh, okay, thank you, I said to her, thanking her for forgiving me for my nasty statements. As we exited the Jeep and headed into the mansion that looked far bigger and better than that of her parents. Welcome to my humble abode, and this is the home we will be staying at, and I hope that you will find it pleasant when living together, Princess said. But if you said that I should stay with you, where are my things? I asked her. Oh, that, Princess said. Your things have been sorted out and arranged in your room, and I have added additional items to your closet. Like your working clothes, which I would want you to look like presently while you work side by side with me at the office, and more clothes for events, parties, etc. You will find out when you finally get to the room and see for yourself. I hope that you will like the room that I have for you, and if you need anything, you can come to my room or the office downstairs after three doors to your left. If you're hungry for a snack, you can ask my assigned baker to fix you something that you may like, she said. I will be heading to bed now, she said. Walking upstairs with her things, before she entered her room, she shouted good night for me to hear and closed the door after I said mine. I entered my room, closing and locking the doors. Before heading to the shower and after I was done, I changed into my new night gown and laid down on the queen-size bed, and before I knew it, I fell into a deep slumber for tomorrow's work.
