Clara got embarrased

1916 Words
Clara entered the celebration hall, her face covered in shame and regret. She first felt like she had never come around the school hall for the project celebration; on second thought, Clara regretted that she had even decided to steal honour from the invitation even after what had happened to her the previous day. She looked around and discovered how magnificent the other students were all looking. She knew that she would draw the attention of many people for being odd in attire and still not putting on an expensive wristwatch. Her high school has always placed so much value on the kinds of attire and, most significantly, the expensive wristwatches people wear on their special occasions. Clara came in with a plain black gown that was well fitted with a golden stripe on the neck region that made her look gorgeous, but unfortunately, both her hands were empty of any watch or hand bangles. She closely observed the dangling bangles in the hands of most students there, and she felt even more awkward. Everyone seemed to enjoy the sweet melody of the music playing in the hall's background, but Clara could only hear noises because she was almost absent. Her feelings were opposite of what most people were feeling there. Many students were dancing to the rhythm of the songs played in the hall. Clara could see some jumping and greeting each other in vivid excitement. There was so much light and love that illuminated the entire place. Any observant person could very quickly notice Clara's tension at that moment. Ariel sighted her from afar and walked majestically to where she was. She slowly tapped her on the shoulder, and Clara turned enthusiastically. "Oh my gosh! Damn you. You scared the living hell out of me right now, Ariel." Clara said pathetically. "I'm truly sorry if I did, but I noticed how uneasy you were and decided to come over here and dine with you for tonight," Ariel replied to her with a smiling face. "Wow. That's so lovely of you, my good person," Clara teased her emotionally. Ariel slowly held her hands, and they walked majestically to a round table a bit farther than where others were having merriment. Ariel shifted the chair backwards so that Clara could comfortably sit down there. "Clara, I want you to sit down and wait for me. I need to order something for us tonight." Ariel said as she was about to leave the table. "Thank you so much, Ariel; I would prefer only the red wine and cake, please," Clara said passionately to her. "Alright!" Ariel said and left the scene. Clara was lost in thoughts about how her friendship with Ariel had become a sisterhood affair. Her instincts began to relate to her what her life after school could look like and how rough and hard life could be without true friends around. She was never the kind of person who felt so easy about making friends. She is always forever grateful each time she remembers how she met Ariel during their last graduation ceremony. Ariel has become her best friend and confidant over the years since she met with her. Her mind began to reminisce how Olivia had fought tooth and nail her friendship with Ariel after discovering it. Olivia never wanted to see Clara in a good mood; whatever brings joy or peace to her is always averted by Olivia, and she sometimes wonders why she hated her that much. She was much happier at that as her mind clicked on the fact that she and Ariel had survived every attack Olivia had inflicted on them, yet they stood together despite all odds. She was quickly brought back to reality as Ariel's footsteps were heard coming closer to their usual spot. "Here we go!! Clara. I brought you your favourite golden cake and flavoured wine." she said, smiling and placing it horizontally on the table where Clara sat. "Thank you so much, darling". Clara said in an appreciative tone of voice while she smiled at Ariel. She kept staring at Ariel for a while as she began to appreciate the actual work of nature's gift in her dear friend. Ariel was a beautiful girl that anyone could confirm at the first glance to her. She could see Ariel's pretty long hairs on her head resting judiciously on her lovely shoulders. Clara glared at the white pair of eyes she had, matching with the white pairs of teeth on her mouth. The pointed nose added more to her beauty. She was worthy of every compliment that Clara had ever showered on her. "Ariel, you look so beautiful today, as usual. Your good heart adds to your beauty daily." Clara complimented her in their usual jovial way. Ariel, shocked and lifted her head only to notice that Clara had been staring at her for a long time, decided to ask her. "So, for how long has the goddess of beauty been staring at me now? " Ariel asked sarcastically. The two of them burst out in laughter at the hearing of people, and they even attracted a few students to the duration of their table. "I don't think that it is a nice idea for the both of us to sit here together and enjoy our meals," Clara said with a change in her tone of voice. "Why do you say so, dear?" Ariel asked with a concerned voice, too. "Olivia may see us here, and you should know the next step would be a fight or threats from her as usual," she replied to Ariel. Ariel, who understood what she said very well, nodded and responded to her. "Oh, that! You don't need to worry; you should know that I know all of these things before I ask you to come over here. I instructed one of the guys to beep me once she arrived. So, no need to panic at all." she shrugged. Clara was so fearless and strong. She was never afraid of the threats to Olivia, but after the father conspired against the death of her parents, she succeeded. She became slightly scared of their next conspiracy; hence, she stayed away from them. Olivia's father became a Beta and could now do anything unjustifiable without being questioned by any other authority, especially when it was done on her now that the parents were all late, too. Ariel had even offered her one of her expensive wristwatches to wear that night to avoid going with empty hands, but she bluntly refused. Not because she never liked Ariel's fancy watches but because she feared that Olivia might threaten her if she dared it. Olivia had threatened her a lot in many cases and sometimes made her life boring. But she never bothered much once she had someone like Ariel, who also made her very happy and lively. "Oh my gosh! I forgot something very crucial for a long time now, Clara. No wonder you have been looking so wonderful, Miss Clara." Ariel teased her. Clara was lost in thought and stared at her in confusion. "You will meet your Alpha mate for the first time tonight, Clara. Stop pretending that you don't know what I'm talking about." Ariel gently teased her in their usual jovial tone and tapped her on the shoulder. "Oh, that!" Clara leaned back to her seat and laughed sarcastically. "I just hope he makes it on time to be at the venue we both agreed to for today's seeing. I really cannot wait to hold his hands and smell his scent. He has been someone I have desired to meet and have a talk with for a long time. Hopefully, he could be my second Ariel." She winked at Ariel, and they both laughed loudly to themselves. "I am hoping and wishing well for you, my good friend. I also can't wait for him to suffer and start taking good care of you, sweetheart." Ariel replied to her. "Thank you, Ariel." She grinned and replied to her, too. "So Clara, we are done with our meals. We must go to the other side and see what other students are doing there. It is our final year here, so we must have every view and enjoy our last moments in this hall of fame. The celebration is already hitting; let's go over there, darling. " Ariel said to her. Clara peeped through the spacious curtain and discovered how noisy and rowdy it was in that corner. She was not truly ready to have a first-hand experience of that, so she wanted to oblige, but her mind went to the fact that Ariel had never refused her invitation, so she decided to join her anyway. "Alright, Ariel, but before then, let me return these cups of glass to the waiters standing there. You can go; I would join you in an instant." Clara replied to her. On getting to the nearest kitchen to return the glasses of cups. Clara began to feel uncomfortable at the number of people staring at her hilariously. She felt ashamed and embarrassed at the same time over her inferior attire and bare hands. She sluggishly returned the glasses and decided to return to the table instead of joining Ariel in watching the scenes over there. She felt she could attract more people sarcastically, staring at her or laughing at her poor attire. Clara slowly returned to her usual spot with Ariel and sat down. She was pained as she looked forward and saw how her friend was enjoying her company with others. She bent down on the table to rest before Ariel's return. Suddenly, Olivia came into the building and sighted Clara on the spot where she bent down. The wickedness in her got enraged as she began to step faster in the direction of Clara's table. Melvin was with her and suddenly wondered why she was suddenly at a faster pace. He followed her from behind anyway. Clara was still tenaciously bent to the table when she discovered Olivia's sudden voice in front of her. She raised her head quickly to check if it was Ariel, but the sight of Olivia shook her to the bone marrow. "What are you doing here, Olivia?" She asked intuitively. "Shut up! How dare you ask me a question that sounds as stupid as you are." Olivia asked her authoritatively. She picked up her phone and called the police at work to come over to the scene immediately. "I will teach you how best to talk to your superiors next time. It seems you need a new lesson on respect." Olivia echoed to her. Clara turned in the direction of the handsome guy whom she had come with. The guy was so patient and looked so innocent, too. Clara was lost in the handsomeness of Melvin, one of the most incredible guys in a creature she had ever met. The broad shoulders and broad eyebrows were dripping magnificently. At a point, Melvin frowned at Olivia's misdemeanor, and Clara could not appreciate the beauty that radiates from frowned facial looks. Clara's instincts confirmed that either the guy was genuinely innocent and knew nothing about her actions or that he was developing passionate feelings for her because he never supported Olivia's reactions towards her. Olivia walked in his direction and held his hands while they waited for the police to come over and pick who they would think to be a criminal.
