520 Words
After all his mother’s admonitions, the young heart of Rojan wants what it wants. Young love is everything to him at the time. Who in their right mind will reject a Samantha Brighton? Every guy’s dream is her. Warned by his mother he still attended the party. He was wearing a simple white long sleeved shirt paired with black slacks he made his way to the Brighton Mansion full of hopes. Brighton Mansion was full of people that night. From businessmen, tycoons, celebrities and old money family heirs and heiresses. The place was gleaming with their fashionable attires and jewelries. All ready to show off their blings and outshine whoever. The place was stinking with money. But tonight there is only one that matters. And that is Samantha Brighton. She looked like a princess in her pink satin gown made especially for her by a top designer. She looked perfect. Sitting on her left is her sister Sabine. On her right is her mother Madam Penelope Brighton. Rojan stood at a dark corner of the venue just staring at Samantha. Taking in her beauty. He then looked at the people present at the party. They really are wearing expensive clothes compared to what he has on. But what he lacks in money, he makes up with his appearance. With his height and handsome features he stood out from all the rich guys in there. He was, indeed, good looking. He took a glance at Samantha, there’s already a line of good looking rich guys wanting to dance with her. Other people are on the buffet. Damn, he thought, even the buffet looked elegant. Yet still he stood in that dark corner still holding a small gift he bought for Samantha. He was surprised when he sees her coming towards him. She smiled the sweetest smile again. Good heavens he thought, how can someone be so pretty. “I’ve seen you standing here just staring at me since you arrived,” she remarked. “Are you not even going to ask me for a dance, Rojan?” “Huh?” He replies feeling embarrassed. “Come on let’s dance together!” And she hooked her arm on his and led him to the center of the floor where a slow romantic music is playing. He could feel the shaking of his body. His hands became cold and his face blushed as Samantha looks him directly in the eye. People are now beginning to whisper. Sabine and her mother Penelope are shocked at the scene. They almost passed out at the sight of us dancing. Our bodies so close to each other. “Oh my goodness,” exclaimed Penelope. “Is Samantha dancing with Leona’s son?!” “Arrogant guy,” muttered Sabine. “Definitely thick faced and no breeding.” “Do something Sabine. Stop this madness. People are starting to talk.” Penelope is worried of what people might say. “That kid is still dirt even if he cleans up well!” “Leave it to me Mom,” answered Sabine reassuringly to her mother with a determined face.
