Chapter 21
Flic had been busy calculating angles and distances. She'd chosen the firing point before arranging for Rennell to meet Rutherford. She'd known he'd accept because he had no choice. He would also think that he was safe next to the Palace of Westminster, in public view and so near the headquarters of the Secret Service and Secret Intelligence Service. What he didn't know was that he would be meeting Gallagher. What neither of them knew was that she would be several floors up on the other side of the river, watching them through a telescopic sight.
Flic knew the hospital well. It was where her mother, Amelia, had died. It was during the time that Rutherford had thought he was recruiting her. The trips back to London had been arranged so that she could spend time at the hospital
