Chapter 26Two weeks later
Dessie Walsh had enjoyed a good dinner with his new colleagues. New York was where it was at. Boston was in the past and he"d been lucky not to have been professionally damaged by the scandal surrounding the Kanes. There had been no sign of any interest by law enforcement agencies on either side of the Atlantic. His luck had never failed him.
The cab dropped him at the end of the street where he was renting an apartment. He liked to stroll under the big trees, soaking up the comfortable vibe of rich America. A man was walking towards him – relaxed, confident in his surroundings, with polished shoes and an expensive coat – hands deep in the pockets on what was a chilly night. Walsh nodded a greeting. The two tried to pass but on the same side.
