Chapter Forty-Two Lenny hid Sebastian in the car for a short time, but they could not stay there. The temperature had risen slightly above freezing, and the snowbank he’d built to conceal the car would shrink until they were found. He didn’t trust his driving ability to get them away safely, and he didn’t dare leave Sebastian alone long enough to steal gas for the nearly-empty tank. If the temperature rose, they would be discovered, but if it dropped, they would freeze. And Sebastian was healing too slowly.
