Ty’s POV For the first few hours of travel, things are simple enough. The Red Wolves and I lope east in our wolf forms while Evie and Kipp ride their mounts. No one says much in the mind link, nor do Evie and Kipp speak much aloud; we’re all moving a bit too quickly for conversation to be comfortable. After a few hours, though, Kipp starts complaining about his thighs, and Evie agrees that she’d prefer to slow the pace a bit. I consider telling them both to suck it up, but decide that we have no real reason to hurry, and that I don’t want to put Evie in pain for no reason. So I agree.
