Chapter 19Skylar’s pov
It’s been two days since I have seen Tia. Two days that has felt like two years. Deacon is so fussy, and nothing we do comforts him. I have moved in with Derek so that we could concentrate fully on finding our girls.
Oliver’s fiancée was taking care of Deacon for me along with his nurse. I was so thankful for them. Oliver is in a major depression thinking he will never see his sister again. I can’t think like that are else I will lose it. I will get Tia back safe and sound.
It was weird that there has been no phone calls, no demands, and no sight of them. The police are doing what they can, but it’s not enough. How could someone do something like this? Just take two women from everyone they loved and not give a damn.
Tia was such a beautiful person. She has never hurt anyone. She does so much for everyone. Does whoever has her realize how much little Deacon has already lost? Do they even care?
I swear if I get her back, I am going to marry her. I don’t care if it is too soon. A woman like Tia only comes around once in a lifetime. She was the one for me. This time without her has shown me that life is too short to waste time not going after what you want.
I wasn’t going to let her get away again. I would spend the rest of my days making her happy. I just needed to bring her back home first. I know Deacon misses her like crazy. I just want Tia and Layla home safe.
Derek is a good man as well as Oliver. I was glad I had Derek to lean on. If I was alone in this, I wouldn’t make it. I wasn’t strong enough. I was trying to be enough for Deacon, but we both badly needed Tia back in our lives. This precious little baby has had one of the hardest lives imaginable and he’s not even a year old yet. He lost his mom and dad and now his aunt that is like a second mother to him is gone from his life.
I still can’t believe we have heard nothing. If this was Layla’s ex like they thought it was he would have slipped up by now because he was far from professional from what I have heard. I just have a bad feeling we are dealing with someone else here.
I have tried to talk to Derek about it, but he doesn’t want to hear it. To him it’s Layla’s ex and that’s final. I think he’s just worried that if it isn’t her ex then someone, we don’t know has them and that’s scarier then it being her ex. Oliver agrees with me so quietly we have been looking at who it could be. I don’t want to anger Derek, but I had to do something before I completely lost it.
I dug into my past even to try and find someone that might be angry with me. All I came up with is the men I fired because they kept saying s**t to Tia, but I didn’t think they would go this far. I was going to track each of them down and make sure though. I was leaving no stone unturned.
Oliver has made a list of enemies he and Derek may have so now we have a purpose. I know this is for us to make us feel better. I had a bad feeling we wouldn’t find the girl’s until whoever had them wanted us to, but being patient just wasn’t possible for me.
