Maya returns to the manor, bracing herself for another painful encounter with her sons. But what she doesn’t expect— Is to find them diligently attending class. Maya lingers outside the study where they are, pressing her ear to the door. The children’s voices are faint—too faint. She inhales, schooling her expression before stepping inside.
