Victor's POV
“Hello Emy,how are you today?” I would ask gorgeous but this didn't look like those any other good days in life. Not after I had seen Dave matching out of the area furiously.
“Look,at this point I now that maybe you've probably heard a word about me and please let me take this moment to explain how sorry I am ma'am.” I was now on my knees and even ready to do more so that I would never lose an angel.
“You know me Emily,I had to pretend all along so that my siblings would have something to eat. They are the last people I would want to lose after my mother, sorry I was tricked into a wrong way of getting money from you.” I was all tears and a mistake was done, this was what I had come into agreement with.
The next thing was to walk out and just before leaving,I would hear her talk for the very first time since I arrived.
“Victor,” Emy called.
“Where did you get the letter from?” She was so curious just to make sure that It was not a part of the modern day lies that we had put her through.
“The invitation letter from the State? How did they know about me?” She asked knowing that I was an officer of the law and perhaps that was how, but apparently not,I was nothing Emily, infact Jobless.
“I needed to make up for all the wrong I did with them Emily,so I took your CV to one of the state's personnel who found it brilliant and that's how you got the job. The president was pleased thanks to Rando,he is a former classmate working at the government. Unlike me Emily,I am nothing,I am not a law officer too as you had known, just a pervert.” I told her and could watch her coming to comfort me at the moment.
Her hug was always encouraging and would advise her not to leave the job,she had come from her despite her not being just an ordinary lady, Emily was the one.
“You can all come with your family and stay with me Victor, this house can accommodate all of you and take this?” She said as she handed it over to me.
Taking a random look at it,was a check of whooping ten million dollars,
“As the man of the house, take this little appreciation and take good care of your siblings. I wish them good luck.” She said not knowing what she had just done to me.
Honestly, even up to today, words were never going to express how happy I was.
And that's how my journey towards making money started.
FIVE YEARS LATER…
I am now an established business man and not only is my company thriving, but offers the best materials needed for construction.
James,June ,Jane and Michael were my siblings and I was so glad for what they had turned into. Jane was the only one who would give me overthink but I had to thank all was never lost ever since we took her to the rehabilitation center, became an addict after falling into depression when her boyfriend left her broken into pieces.
Today I took my faithful steps to go and visit my sister,on my way to take some oranges which she loved the most.
I thought I was too early until I found a woman seated at the waiting bay, patiently waiting for visiting hours to reach, with her were a number of fruits and oranges carrying the highest number she had brought.
She was way ahead of time, this woman was none other than Emily, the woman I loved so much until I became afraid of expressing my emotions towards her. Emily had now become a part of my family and as the day went, she would assure me that it would never take long before Jane would fully recover, all I had to do was to have a little faith.
Whenever I joined this person I was so proud and felt special too and the country had a great person as a minister too. She was obviously going far, I would then recall that one day when I secretly took a visitation to the couple's apartment and all I would hear were nothing but bold arguments, Dave’s marriage with Danita was all falling apart.
All they did was quarreling and this fruitful day when Emily asked me about them I was more than free to inform her,
“A night before her conceiving, Danita's Blood pressure rose, making her and the baby compromised. The doctor then scheduled her for a C-section mode of delivery and unfortunately, it was already dead.” So that meant that the couple had lost their children.
Now this was quite a news and would watch at how good Emy was from how she sympathized with them,
“They are not supposed to go through all this, maybe we need to pay them a visit and offer some grief counseling.” That was the best that could be done and her wish was always my command,
We would now take my car as we took one way leading to Dave and Danita's house.
The place was never far and didn't take even an hour before arriving. Outside the compound was a random man who would ask for a little bit of guidance.
“Excuse us,is Mr Dave and Mrs Danita around?” Emily would ask politely.
The man would then take a moment and thought for a while before giving a feedback,
“Ooooh, about the couple. They no longer live here!!” He went on saying that he had no idea about where Dave and Danita had relocated to.
The city was so big and guess who lived at the place where life was merely found, this was the most isolated place in the city and all the communicable diseases would arise from Isman slums.
