Chapter 10

"To do a quick draw, you need your heart, brain, and body to work together, which is called; Inner Harmony." he said, slowly walking back and forth behind her. "Your heart rate is determined by the movement of your body. Your body moves fast, your heart beats fast. Your body relaxes, and it beats normally, which is not what you want it to. The timing must be perfect – not too fast, not slow, or normal either. It must be perfect. Your body needs to make your heart beat. Your brain listens to your heart as it tells it when to attack. Then your brain sends signals to your body to attack. Remember to focus you must stay focused." Jen imagined the fire traveling in her veins, inside her brain, and she needed to get it outside of her body. Although her veins were everywhere in her body, only her hands had the opening to let it out. He paused and stared at her for a second before saying, "You need to find a way to send the fire out directly from your hand." Jen imagined the fire inside her brain as told by the master. She breathed in and tried to make the fire travel down to her hands but failed. She tried several times, but there was nothing. "Remember the process," he reminded her before finding himself a place to sit not far from her. "Right! Listen to the heartbeat," Jen repeated the process inside her head before opening her eyes in a sudden moment. She stared at the rock wall as hard as she could, and when she began to feel her veins tingle, seconds later she could feel something heavy turning into light coming out of both her hands. Her pupils shrank, and excitement grew all over her when she saw fire coming out of her hands. As the fire grew bigger, it began to fade away. A few seconds later, it vanished. "Huh? Confused, she looked at her hands. "Where did it go?" "Good, try again," he said, nodding his head. Jen wasted no time and closed her eyes again. This time, it was much easier. But just like the first time, the fire didn't last long. "Great! But not strong enough. When it travels, make sure you give it enough energy. Try again!" Jen exhaled and inhaled for a moment, full of determination. She closed her eyes and tried again. This time, as it traveled through her veins, she forced more energy into it. Seconds later, she could feel a burst of energy from her hands. "Ahh!" She was pushed back and fell on the ground backwards. Not quite amazed or stunned, the master stood up and walked up to her. Thinking he was going to help her get up, she stretched out her arm. "I'm coming back; make sure you improve when I return." With that, he vanished in thin air, leaving Jen's arm hanging. "Dammit, that old man!" She helped herself up and kicked the sand furiously. "Couldn't he see that my hand was up, indicating for help?" With energy like that, able to push her to the ground, she must have turned the rocks into dust by now. She thought, rushing to the table immediately. Her face went gloomy. "Dammit, rocks! Why are you going hard on me?" She kicked the table with her pinky toe and screamed in pain, "Ahh! Ah, dammit, not you too, table!" She went back to the spot and practiced until the sun was beginning to set. "Alright, one last time." The energy this time was stronger. She could feel it slowly pushing her, but this time she was able to hold back. A huge energy blast came out of her hands, traveling directly to the rocks on the table. With a bang, there was smoke in the air. The master arrived just in time to witness the scene. Seeing what she had done, she put her arms out. "Yes!" Suddenly, she felt a great force from her knees forcing her to kneel down without her consent. She breathed in and out heavily, slowly shutting her eyes, and fell to the ground unconscious. The man slowly walked up to her and lifted her into his arms before teleporting back to their house. When she regained her consciousness, she felt a strong scent of aroma in the room. Thinking the man had cooked, she immediately opened her eyes. "Oh, you're awake. Just in time to take your medicine before it gets cold," he said, handing her the bowl. Thinking it was food, she quickly took it, only to find out it was just soup. "What is this?" "That's medicine, it will help you get back the energy you lost today," he said steadily. Her head tilted, and she raised one eyebrow. " Isn't that the food's job? Hehehe." she nervously chuckled. " I thought you were going to give me something to eat." With a dull expression he looked at her, " And isn't that a servant's job to make the food? " Her mood immediately turned off. " ugh! this man hasn't cooked yet? He's so lazy." She said to herself. She didn't respond and drank her medicine instead.
