"How?" she asked.
"I will cook for you, clean the house, and wash your clothes. I promise," she said in a pleading voice.
The man just stared at her and said nothing, making her confused about whether he was thinking about it or what. After a long silence, he asked, "What's your condition?"
As much as she was happy to hear that question, she was nervous about the answer. "I stay here, and you will help me unlock my powers."
The man thought for a moment before saying, "As much as I need someone to help around, I don't teach anyone, and I'm not planning to do that either."
He stood to leave. Seeing that he was leaving, she stood up and said, "Please. I will do anything you ask me to do. And I will give you this."
She began searching for the pendant in her pocket and was relieved when she found it.
"That's mine; you have no right to keep it," he said, stretching out his hand to take it.
"Of course, it's yours," Jen said, smiling mischievously, and slowly stretched her arm to hand it to him but stopped mid-air.
"But I will give it to you if you agree to my proposal."
"Alright, I gave you enough time already to leave. Looks like you want to die here," he said, stretching out both his arms and calling out, "Energy Blast!"
Energy blast formed in his hands. He looked at her closely and said in a threatening tone, "Last chance. Hand it over and leave."
Although Jen was scared to fight this man, at least she had to try.
"I will give it to you, but only in one condition: I will become your student and servant."
"That's it!" he exclaimed, out of patience, and began blasting energy from his hands at her.
"Agility Dodge!" Fast as light, she successfully dodged them, and they ended up destroying the walls.
Seeing the holes on the wall, he was even more mad and fired several more. Jen was enjoying it as she finally unlocked the Agility Dodge. In just a few minutes, she got the hang of it.
"The more you try to blast me, the more you destroy your house. But I don't mind staying in a damaged house. Hehe," she said, provoking him.
The man planned to go easy on her, but her provoking manner made him furious.
"Whirling Claws!" Claws that spin rapidly with the intention of slashing anything into halves.
Jen was more scared of the spinning claws than the man.
"Agility Dodge!" She quickly dodged, leaving the claws slashing into one of the wooden cupboards filled with plates and cups.
The sound of glasses and plates breaking and falling on the ground filled the air.
"Tiger's Fury!" Rapid punches and kicks went in her direction. The only thing she could do was dodge.
"Agility Dodge!" After a minute of dodging around the house, she ran out of breath and was panting.
"Energy Blast!" This one was too late to dodge; it ended up throwing her on the floor.
"Shadow Travel!" Within a split second, he disappeared and reappeared in front of her.
He snatched the pendant from her hand before she could even react.
"You need to practice more on your dodging. Clean up the mess. I will be in my room," he said, and then walked away from her.
"That's it? Does that mean he has agreed?" Thinking about where to start, she laid back on the floor and groaned.
All the dodging had consumed a lot of energy from her, and looking at the mess, she regretted her decision. But it's not like it's not going to benefit her anyway.
She stood up and began picking up the broken pieces. The man didn't come out until she finished, and that was when the sun was setting.
"I'm hungry, cook dinner."
Although she hated being ordered around, she signed up for this herself. That's what servants do.
Thinking about her life as a princess, she felt pity for the servants. She never imagined it would be this hard.
At the palace, things weren't going well.
"First princess, we searched everywhere. We couldn't find her," the head of the guards said.
"Well, keep on looking for her. Make sure you don't come back without her!" Diana instructed.
"Noted, my princess!" They bowed and left the study.
"Where do you think she had gone?" Diana asked with concern.
"I don't," Chantell answered hopelessly. "I don't know why this is happening to us. First, it was our parents; now it's her."
"I know she's going to come back. Maybe she got lost," Chantell said in a comforting tone.
While they were worried, their uncle, General Xander, was furious on the other side.
"Dammit!" He banged his desk. "What do you mean they're all dead?"
"It's true, we all saw it with our own eyes," one of the guards said.
"Maybe they were attacked by an animal or something. That girl can't be capable of killing four excellent guards with superpowers. That's not possible," he said, shaking his stubborn head, refusing to believe that Jen was that capable.
"It can't have been an animal, General; their bodies were perfectly cut apart."
"Looks like I underestimated this girl," he said coldly.

After a silent dinner, he placed a book on the table. "Here's your book."
Her eyes immediately lit up with joy. "I knew it! I would find you." She kissed the book before holding it closer to her chest.
"So, when are you going to start teaching me?" she asked in excitement, but the answer disappointed her.
"Whenever I feel like it. I'm going out now. Good night."
"Ughh! Whatever." She said as she watched him close the door.
He left the table and went out. Jen cleared the table and washed the dishes. After that, she went to her room and lit the lamp. She sat on her bed and began reading the book.
