(Ryan’s POV) By the time we pulled into the driveway, the sky was already black and littered with stars. It was way later than I had anticipated... way later than I had hoped. I stepped out of the car, my jaw tense while I tried to pretend that I hadn’t spent the last twenty minutes obsessively refreshing my messages like a madman every time my dad stopped talking.
