As Ashleigh stepped into the kitchen, our eyes locked and she froze. She hadn't expected me, that much was clear, but she didn't say it. Instead, she just looked... uncomfortable.
Can't say that I was feeling particularly comfortable either. Now that she was here, standing in front of me, all I could think about was the video Caleb had shown me and I didn't want to. I wished I could bleach my eyeballs. I wished someone could f*****g neuralyze me and I could wipe it from my brain forever. I wished I'd never seen it.
