“Scientific measurements generally adhere to the International System of Units (SI units). It is important always to include units when recording data, doing calculations, and reporting results! Units are globally recognized and necessary for sharing information between scientists around the world,”
“What are the seven units of measurement?”
“These dimensions are measurements of length, mass, time, electric current, temperature, amount of a substance, and luminous intensity.”
“What are the three types of measurement?” her voice growled. “Are you Mr. Caros?” she strictly growled again.
“Did you hear what Miss Detros said? Or you are too busy clicking your phone secretly, but I still see it.”
“Apologies, miss, I'm already listening.”
My classmate, who is also my bully John Carlos Caros, looked down.
“Continue, Ms. Detros,”
“The three measures are descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive. Descriptive is the most basic form of measurement.”
“Ms. Dela Vega, What are measurements called?”
“I don't know, miss, apologies.”
“Truly, Ms. Dela Vega, you're reading the book, right?” The teacher was outraged.
“Alright, for the score of 30 points, what are measurements called? In the event that you can't respond to that question accurately, leave my class.”
I fervently pity Kiara. I am sorry for her. My best friend was embarrassed in class. Often I can answer. If nothing else, the teacher doesn't embarrass me because it rarely happens. But even though I understand her, for me, she is also wrong. It's the responsibility of each student to study well.
“Uhm measurement is uhm ah uhm A quantity, a q-quantity with U-unit off-of measurement,” Kiara trembling answer.
I saw some who laughed at her. The genius shadow of her family is using Kiara. When you say Dela Vega, it means geniuses, but Kiara isn't made for oral. She can ace exams but not oral recitations. She is the school queen bee. This isn't very comfortable. She once called it a disgrace to her family's reputation.
“What's more, Ms. Dela Vega? Your cousin Tadeo Dela Vega can answer this question in just a split second with a full explanation,”
“I am so sorry, Miss.” she held her head down. I saw a tear escaping from her small face.
“Plunk down,” the instructor laid out both hands on the plateau.
“That is it? That's where you're good. You are senior understudies and what you remember are just watchwords of implications? Do you believe it's useful?” our silence was broken by this question.
That is the problem of being rich. I am not generalizing rich people, but most think they got it all and didn't need knowledge. Money will fade, but knowledge remains. Educate yourself not to become rich but to become educated enough to face the reality of life. For luxury will fade, but the scar of hardship remains, and that becomes eternal strength.
You can't call yourself intellectual if you know the meaning of the words. Call yourself philosophical if you can define something using that word. According to Albert Einstein, if you can't explain it, you don't understand it. That is the problem of today's students. They memorize their textbook to be called intellectual, but no, they know nothing.
Bulimic learning makes an environment where understudies are constrained to memorize endless sums of data with minor consideration paid to the long-term maintenance of information and aptitudes vital to hone intellect competently. Keeping up a thorough, logical establishment is foremost to the calling of analytical geniuses.
Albert Einstein once said, “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it'll live its entire life believing it is stupid.” Our education system is imperfect because of the need to come out to the people's needs on testing and learning. Agreeing with Albert Einstein
“Education is what remains after one has overlooked what one has learned in school.”
“Okay, since Miss Detros here is the only intelligent one among you guys. I am going to ask her ten questions if she answers all of them correctly. I am going to compensate, but if she has one wrong, I am going to hold a long quiz that will indeed affect your grades tomorrow. Also, don't threaten me with money or violence to make you pass this school year. I am Callista Verada, and my father is the chief of Philippine national police, my mother is chief justice, my older brother is a five-star general, and my self is a black belter in taekwondo and a sharpshooter so, assassinating me for failing your grades which is not my fault wouldn't be easy since I belong in a powerful family. Think twice, okay? Let's proceed to Miss Detros.”
“Number 1, Why does a measurement need both a number and a unit?”
“Why does a measurement need both a number and a unit for its complete specification? It is important for us to specify both the magnitude and unit to successfully represent the value of a physical quantity as individually either one is meaningless and incomplete.”
“Number 2, what are the different units of measurement?”
“SI Units
Length - meter (m)
Time - second (s)
Amount of substance - mole (mole)
Electric current - ampere (A)
Temperature - kelvin (K)
Luminous intensity - candela (cd)
Mass - kilogram (kg)”
“Number 3, what do you mean by fundamental units?”
“One of a set of unrelated units that form the basis of a system of units For example, the meter, kilogram, and second are fundamental units of the SI system.”
“Number 4, Why are standardized units of measure important to scientists?”
“Standardized units of measure are important to engineering because if everyone were using different measurement systems, dimensions of different objects and inventions wouldn't be converted correctly from the inventor to other inventors or manufacturers.”
