Several hours later, we stood on the bank of a creek. It was much wider than streams we’d seen earlier in our journey. Mouse looked as if he had been vindicated. I glanced to Gaela. She shook her head.
“I forgot that something like this would seem like a difficult to cross river to someone as small as Mouse. My apologies, Mouse. I should not have doubted you. I simply didn’t see it from your perspective,” Gaela told him.
“All is forgiven. I hadn’t taken into account how larger beings might see this waterway, either. It looks as though it would only take a step inside of it to get to the other shore for you.” Mouse replied.
