Carefully, I crossed the room and set out the bathing supplies on my dresser, then settled the bed at the other end of it. I pulled up the tabs on the lid and opened up the bowl. Steam rose from the bowl. Setting the lid to the side, I placed the sliver of soap and the washcloth on the wide rim of the bowl. I used a cotton swab to place the shampoo and conditioner on the rim as well. It was well situated. “Your bath is ready, Mouse,” I said. “Goddess, you undead sure do like to make a show of things. You’re practically fae in that.” He laughed. “I’ll choose to take that as a compliment.” While he undressed and climbed into the water, I cleaned up the crumbs of his meal and moved the watch box to hold the towel for him. Everything had to be in Mouse’s time. I needed to be patient.
