Brigid looked at the summons she was angry. "Why me? I want nothing to do with the elder council," she said to herself. She never agreed with their thoughts or views. They did nothing to help her mother when that vampire stole her mother's innocence resulting in her arrival. Making her a miserable unwanted child, her mother made sure she knew that daily.
As she was growing up, she vowed that she would someday become powerful. She would take care of the people that shunned her, making her feel less than worthy. Being a member of the elder council, she would never be able to accomplish that. She threw down the piece of parchment with a sigh, unfortunately, there was nothing she could do about it. So, she packed her bags and left the only house she knew.
