The time of my licensure exam came , I have to wake up early and go to school to have time to relax.
It's been a 4 hours exam that when it's finished , I'm already hungry.
I hurriedly walk out in the building through the parking lot when I stop on my mid-step because of what I saw.
Their Sandro Lopez , cooly leaning his back towards his expensive car.
Why would I be surprised , it's been a months since he started bugging me. Even when I'm still reviewing for my exam , he just suddenly appears wherever I am.
I walked closer to him.
"what are you doing here ?" I asked when I got near him.
" fetching you , you done with your exam ?" he said.
" yes I'm already done but you don't need to fetch me" I said calmly because there's no point of arguing with him.
" I have a car , I can drive myself , I don't need someone to fetch me " I added.
he pouted " well I just want to have a lunch with you "
I rolled my eyes " fine but I'll drive my own car , convoy nalang tayo " I give in.
he smiled " okay , you choose where to eat. "
Sumakay ako sa kotse ko at nag drive , habang nasa daan naka sunod lang siya sakin , hindi man lang siya nag overtake kahit maluwag sa tabi ko.
He also never let someone insert between us.
And since I'm already hungry I choose a restaurant nearby.
Dahil nga magkasunod lang kami ay halos magkasabay na rin kami pumasok at umupo sa bakanteng upuan malapit sa glass wall.
Nang makaupo ay inabutan agad kami ng waiter ng menu at umorder.
I didn't complicate my order so that it will serve immediately.
Nang makaalis ang waiter ay tiningnan ko ang kaharap ko at tinaasan ng kilay.
He smile at me awkwardly.
" don't you dare do it again " I said
" what ? " inosente niyang tanong
" stalking me " seryoso kong saad.
" I'm not , it just happened that we're at the same place. " pagrarason niya.
" I don't buy it , seriously you need stop it , it's creepy " nakangiwi kong saad.
" I'm sorry " nagpapaawa niyang sabi.
I was about to say something when my phone rang. I didn't bother to go away to answer it.
It's Bobbie.
" yes babe" I sweetly said
Nakita kong tumaas ang kilay ng kasama ko at nakatoon ang atensyon sakin.
" hi , you done with your exam ? " Bobbie asked
" yes , I'm outside eating lunch " malambing ko pang sabi.
" oh are you with someone ? , who's with you ?" kuryoso niyang tanong.
" me ? , no I'm alone " sagot ko habang nakatingin sa tao sa harapan ko at nakita kong nangunot ang noo niya.
Hindi ko pwedeng sabihin ang totoo kasi mas hahaba pa ang tanong at mabigyan pa ng malisya kahit wala naman.
" oh okay , are you busy tonight ? " tanong niya , mukhang may party na naman.
" no I'm free , why ? " masigla kong tanong.
" well there's a party set up by our high school classmates tonight , it's like a pre-reunion , so are you coming ? " she cheerfully said.
" really !? okay I'll come , send me the details " I excitedly said before I put down the call.
Nakangiti akong humarap sa kasama ko pero siya ay naka busangot.
" what's with the face ?" tanong ko habang binabalik ang cellphone sa bag.
" oh you can see me , I thought I'm a ghost here " he sarcastically said.
Pero hindi ko nabigyang pansin kasi
sakto namang si-nerve ang pagkain namin.
" who called you ?" he curiously asked
and I answer without hesitation " my friend "
" oh your friend , and you're going out tonight ? " he asked
" yes , we're having a night out party " balewala kong sagot habang kumakain.
" I'm your friend right ? " tanong niya
kaya nagtataka akong sumagot " if that's what you want to call us "
bumuntong hininga ito bago nagsalita " can I also come with you to the party ?"
" no you can't , if you want you can party with your friends..." I stopped mid sentence and looked at him "I'm sure you have plenty of friends here in manila "
Bagsak ang balikat nito na sumandal sa upuan.
" kumain ka na " Sabi ko ng napansin na hindi nagagalaw ang pagkain nito.
" ayoko , Wala na akong gana " parang nagtatampo nitong sabi.
" kakain ka o iiwan kita dito " pagbabanta ko.
Maya-maya ay kumain na rin ito , habang tahimik kami kumain bigla itong nagsalita.
" I want to come with you "
" you can't , it's a pre-reunion party of my high school classmates ... but if you really insist you can come to same club we're partying " Sabi na nakapag-balik ng sigal sa kanya.
" really !? " masigla nitong tanong.
" yes , I don't own the club but in one condition " Sabi ko
" what is it ? " kuryoso nitong tanong.
" you have to pretend that we don't know each other " I said smirking thinking that he will surrender.
Hindi na nagdugtungan ang usaping iyon , tahimik kaming lumabas ng restaurant at umuwi.
Hindi naman big deal para sakin yun kasi sa naisip ko titigilan na niya ako.
I got home and prepare for our pre-reunion party.
I have to look at my best thinking of how my last year in high school went bad because of a specific man.
I was a bit old fashion when it comes to my dressing style.
I have a boyfriend back then , a known varsity of our school. Many good looking girls , especially cheerleaders has a crush to him.
Kaya nakakapagtataka na niligawan niya ako , yun pala ay para lang sa isang pustahan iyon at di kalaunan ay pinahiya ako sa maraming tao kasama ang so-called girlfriend niya na captain ng cheerleaders.
Damn , kahit pa sabihin na matagal na iyon ay hindi ko maiwasang makaramdam ng galit tuwing naalala kung paano ako napahiya noon.
Tahimik naman ang buhay ko bago ako nila ako ginago , Wala naman akong ginagawa sa kanila.
Kaya hindi ko maintindihan kung bakit nila iyon nagawa sakin.
Ano para sa pustahan ? , Para sabihing magaling siya o nagpapasikat lang.
I understand that we're still young that time but I don't get why someone's misery is their happiness.
I hope this night will end well.
