A bitter laugh escaped me. The corners of my eyes burned red as I walked up to Daniel and looked him straight in the eye.
His eyes were bloodshot.
Mine burned just as fiercely.
"Why? You actually have the nerve to ask me why? You knew I was pregnant, yet you still divorced me because of Mia's ridiculous birthday wish. For five years, you disappeared without a trace. You never called. You never sent a single message. You were so convinced I'd keep loving you. You thought I'd always forgive you, no matter what you did. That's why you felt free to flaunt your relationship with your so-called adopted sister right in front of me."
"But, Daniel, I have my limits. And so does my love. Breaking our mate bond was the best decision I ever made. What made you think I'd wait for you forever?"
