Gabriella moved into the apartment with her surrogate mother, Rachel. She told her parents they were both pregnant, so they thought they would be a good support to each other. After the baby was born and Gabriella presented him to Aiden as her own, she would tell everyone that Rachel lost her baby.
Now that Aiden was married to Sasha, the plan changed, and now Gabriella would have Rachel’s baby to keep Aiden in her life. She still wanted to get Sasha out of the picture, though, she decided. She would hire the two men from before and offer them more money this time. “Sasha must be eliminated,” Gabriella said to herself.
The two men followed a safe distance behind Aiden and Sasha on their way home. The couple was not aware that they were being followed.
Aiden decided to stop at an old gas station to refuel and realized that it did not have a card reader, so he had to go inside to pay before pumping the gas.
As soon as Aiden went into the station, the two men took action, grabbing Sasha as she came out of the station’s bathroom and throwing her into their car. They took off before Aiden realized what happened.
Aiden waited for twenty minutes before going to knock on the bathroom door. When he realized she was not there, he began looking for her and panicked when she was nowhere to be found.
Running back inside, he asked the clerk to call the police because he thought his wife had been abducted.
The two men took Sasha to an abandoned house in the woods. Sasha realized that these were the same men who kidnapped her from the cabin on their wedding night.
“What do you guys want from me?” She asked. “I am not rich, if you are hoping for a ransom,” Sasha told the men.
“Your husband has plenty of money, and his mother has even more, but we don’t need your money,” the one guy, Jerry, told her.
“Then what do you want, if not money? Why are you doing this?” Sasha asked.
“The person who paid us wants you dead,” the other man, Max, told her as he started a fire.
“Why does he want me dead? I’m nobody important. I do not have any enemies, and neither does Aiden, as far as I know,” she said, trying to figure out why someone would want her dead.
“Have you ever killed anyone before, Max?” Sasha asked the younger man.
“No, Mam, you will be our first,” he answered honestly.
“I see…so, how do you plan to do it, then? Have you thought about it?” Sasha asked, distracting him as she busied herself with the rope around her wrists.
“I don’t know, that’s up to Jerry, he’s the boss,” Max told her. “We won’t make you suffer, though. We will get it over with quick and clean,” he assured her.
“That’s kind of you, Max. But I worry about what will happen to you when the police find you. I’m sure they will suspect you two first since you tried to kidnap me before. They will put you in prison with some scary people. Have you heard what happens to young, slender guys like yourself in prison?” Sasha asked, causing Max to be concerned.
Jerry came in carrying a bundle of wood. He looked at Max and back to Sasha.
“What’s going on here? You two becoming best buddies?” He asked, noticing the looks on their faces.
“Well, Jerry, she does bring up a good point. The police are gonna suspect us first. If they find us and we have killed her, we are going to prison for the rest of our lives. I don’t want to go to prison, Jerry. You know what they will do to a skinny guy like me?” Max told him, fretting.
“Shut up, Max. She’s messing with your mind. Be quiet while I let the boss know we got her,” Jerry said, dialing the number.
“She’s history. Don’t worry, Boss. We will get rid of her and leave no traces behind,” Jerry told Gabriella on the phone.
“So, how long will it be before you kill me, because if it’s gonna be a while, I’m really hungry,” Sasha said, not showing any sign of fear. She almost had her wrists untied.
“I’m hungry too, Jerry. We need to find something to eat. Can I run to town and pick up a pizza?” Max pleaded.
“You will be caught, as tall and thin as you are, you will draw attention to yourself,” Jerry told the younger man.
“I’ll go. Watch her, and don’t let her get in your mind,” Jerry warned.
“I’ll be good. Hurry back, I’m starving!” Sasha said, sounding brave.
Sasha gave Jerry long enough time to get to the main road and secretly got the last knot out of her wrist ties. She continued to hold onto them.
“You like games, Max? Let’s play a word game,” she suggested.
“I say a word and you say the first thing that comes to mind. The answers are clues to what I’m thinking of, which you have to guess, then it will be your turn,” Sasha suggested.
“Trickle,” she said.
“Water,” he answered.
“Drip,” she offered.
“Faucet,” Max replied.
“Wet,” Sasha said.
“Rain,” Max answered.
“Splash,” she said.
“Mud Puddle,” he replied. “That was it,” Sasha exclaimed, smiling.
“Okay, your turn,” Sasha replied.
“Time,” he suggested.
“Clock,” Sasha said.
“Papaw,” he said.
“Grandpa,” she suggested.
“Pendulum,” he offered.
“Swings,” she replied, adding that she wanted to guess the thing. “Grandfather clock,” she said victoriously.
Max was impressed and enjoying their game. He did not even realize that she had successfully got free of her hands, feet, and ties to the chair while they had been playing.
She kicked a bottle off the floor to his foot. When Max bent down, Sasha hit him over the head with another one, knocking him out.
Sasha pulled on a jacket and ran out into the woods, heading for the lights of the town. She ran out to stop a car when she reached the highway, and fortunately for her, it happened to be the police.
She told them who kidnapped her, and after some interrogation, Max told them who hired them, and that Gabriella wanted them to kill Sasha.
The police went to investigate the matter, but did not have enough evidence to keep Gabriella, and they had compassion for her since she was pregnant, so they let her go.
