Chapter Four

533 Words
When Gabriella found out that her plan had failed, she went crazy with jealousy, smashing things in her room. Her parents came to check on her and found her having an emotional breakdown. Gabriella’s mother rocked her, trying to calm her while her father yelled at her to come to grips with the idea that Aiden was married now, that he did not belong to her. “But Daddy, what about my baby? Aiden’s baby?” Gabriella wailed, caressing her fake baby bump. “If he doesn’t do the responsible thing, we will take him to court once the baby is born, girl. He will pay for his mistakes, you mark my words,” her father assured her. Gabriella decided to keep up the ruse of being pregnant with Aiden’s child because she still hoped to win him back, by whatever means necessary. She had to find a surrogate mother, she decided. She rocked a pillow in her arms, pretending it was a baby. “Here you are, Aiden, this is your son,” she said, extending her pillow out as if presenting the child to him. Gabriella called for a driver to take her to the ob/gyn clinic to find a girl far into her pregnancy that she could persuade to sell her baby once it was born. Surely there was a teenager with an unwanted pregnancy, she thought to herself. Meanwhile, the newlyweds were having a wonderful time together. They had gone hiking, fishing, boating, and were now horseback riding at a stable near the lodge. Sasha had never ridden a horse before, but the trainers were so encouraging, and the horses knew where to go because they made the same trip multiple times a day, so it was easy. Aiden helped Sasha down from her mare, holding onto her waist. He smiled and kissed his bride, whispering to her that she looked pretty hott in the jeans she was wearing. Sasha giggled and winked at him as she walked ahead of him. He laughed and chased Sasha as she took off running away, catching her, swinging her around and pulling her against his chest. The two kissed passionately, and Aiden suggested they go back to the cabin. Sasha nodded and smiled at her frisky husband. Gabriella met a girl named Rachel crying alone outside the clinic. She walked over and handed the girl a tissue, asking if she could sit down beside her. After a few moments, Gabriella had made friends with the girl, offering to pay her for the child in her womb. Rachel quickly agreed to the plan, having no other options since her father had thrown her out of the house. Gabriella hugged the girl, telling her that they would get an apartment together so she could provide for her until the baby was born, and then she would be able to go on with her life as before. Gabriella rode home, singing loudly to the music on her phone, content now that she had found a baby to present to Aiden as his own. She could use the girl for labs and ultrasounds to show Aiden “his son” and Zandra “her grandson.”
