Chapter Eleven

Sasha met Aiden at the door and threw her arms around his neck, kissing him. To her surprise, Aiden did not kiss her back or hold her.

“Honey…what’s wrong? Are you angry with me?” Sasha asked, concerned.

“I’m confused, Sasha. We need to talk,” Aiden said, sitting his briefcase down and taking off his jacket and tie.

“Sure, Sweetheart, what is it?” Sasha asked, sitting down at the kitchen table.

“Explain these to me. Who is this, and why are you hugging him and having lunch with him? Are you doing something behind my back?” Aiden asked, irritated.

“Who took these? Aiden, I know how it looks, but I swear, it is a setup. Someone wants to make it look like Terry and I have a thing going on, but it is a lie. There were other people in all of these pictures. Someone deliberately cut them out. We had a birthday party for Terrance, one of the Patient Care Techs, and we all hugged him. There was absolutely nothing going on, ask any of my coworkers. Here, I will call Julie right now, you can ask her what happened. Or Trish, you know her, she would tell you,” Sasha explained with tears in her eyes. She was hurt that Aiden did not trust her and suspected her of wrongdoing before even talking to her about it.

“You don’t have to call anybody. I believe you. I’m sorry, Baby. You have to admit, they did look pretty thought provoking, though,” Aiden said, reaching for Sasha. She pulled away from him, though, upset for his accusation.

“Who did this, Aiden? Who wants to cause trouble between us?” Sasha asked, both hurt and angry.

“Guess,” Aiden said, hanging his head in shame for not trusting his wife more.

“Gabriella, of course,” Sasha said with frustration.

“Aiden, I would not doubt that Gabriella had something to do with those men who abducted me,” she said, considering the possibility. “I think we should talk to the police and ask what they found out in their investigation,” Sasha suggested.

Aiden smiled and pulled Sasha into his arms, kissing her on the forehead. “I love you, Baby. I’m sorry I got so jealous. I just couldn’t stand the thought of you in another man’s arms,” he told her, finally getting a kiss from her.

He decided that now was not the time to share the picture of the baby with her, so he kept it in his pocket.

Gabriella got a big shock when she got home. She found the contract that Rachel had signed burned up in a dish and a note beside it. In the note, Rachel explained that she did not want to give her baby away. She thanked Gabriella for the room and board but said she just could not with any conscience give her baby away to be used in her evil game of lies and deceit. Gabriella cursed and knocked everything off the island, making a mess. “Now what will I do? I have got to find that girl!” Gabriella shouted.
