By Thursday, Mike was even more happy with his decision to be with Kristen. Waking up with her every morning was something he hadn’t expected to enjoy as much as he did. They still hadn’t managed to get to the next level physically, and while he was frustrated, he wasn’t upset.
Every day this week they had gotten up together, taken turns getting ready, eaten breakfast and then went their separate ways for work. In the afternoons, Mike met Kristen at work and they would spend a few hours working on things for the school play.
Beth had been oddly pleasant to both of them since that night at the diner, and he wasn’t sure why but it bothered him. He brought it up to Kristen who said it was weird but she wasn’t going to poke at it and make it stop. She’d had a good point, so he let it go.
