The Masquerade Ball pt. 1

Destiny POV

The Snow Fall Pack has been working overtime all week preparing the hotel ballroom and all the suites, reserved or not. Everything was put together by Destiny herself, she figured even if she may not find her mate, that this event would be a good stepping stone for her future business and design ventures. The ball was tonight and she just stepped in to make sure all the details were being followed. Her parents were doubling up on security due to all the high profile people going to be there.

Destiny her mom Emily called out," Why are you still here? You should be getting ready, the ball will start in a few hours."

"Yes, mom" Destiny replied,," I'm headed home now, just had to check a few details to make sure the outcome is perfect."

"Well you have done a wonderful job no matter what anyone says it is beautiful. You are going to make a wonderful Luna one day, but for now go get ready, you may meet your mate tonight." says Emily.

"Ok mom, leaving now," destiny said as she left to get ready.

Angels POV

Blue Water Pack-

The SUVs are lined up and ready to leave and head to the Snowfall packs territory and get checked in at the Arlington Hotel.

"Good luck all of you on finding your mates and have a good time tonight." says Alpha Andy with his Luna Amy by his side.

"I wont have any luck till after midnight when my birthday starts." Angel replies as all the eligible male and female wolves are getting in the vehicles dressed to the max.

Angel opted to take his own personal car, an Aston Martin in all black with suede seats. Then they all were off to the Arlington Hotel.

Destiny pov.

I have spent an hour and 30 minutes getting ready with the help of my mom, Amy and a few of the girls around the pack. I checked my phone and it is 7:15 p.m. exactly 45 minutes until everyone starts arriving.

We finally chose a blue gown that has a sweetheart neckline with the front right above my knees then flows down to the floor in the back with a small train dragging. The back goes into a V shape right above my butt showing off my hourglass figure, but it's not completely open. There is a lace back that comes to a point on each side at my belly button. Then a lace strip that goes up my backbone and encircles my neck like a lace choker with a hanging right below my neck in the center. The sweetheart bust area is covered in jewels. I found some clear stilettos with jewels to match the dress jewels. I also have a mask made with the same lace as the dress. My hair is curled and pinned up but most of it still falls down my back like a waterfall and a few strands here and there falling around my face. Add a few jewels pinned in my hair here and there that match my dress and shoes and also on the outline of my mask.

I stood and looked at myself in a floor length mirror and almost didn't recognize myself. About that time my mom walked in to see if i was ready and was startled when i heard a sharp intake of breath. I looked up to see her with tears in her eyes.

"You look like an angel standing there, you are so beautiful." she says trying not to mess up her makeup with unshed tears

I walk over and give her a quick hug," Mom dont start we don't need to mess up the look. And thank you but you look like you're gonna give dad a heart attack when he sees you."

"You're sweet to say that, but more importantly are you ready to go downstairs?" she asks.

"Yes, I want to make sure everything is up and going before the guests start arriving." I said.

"Ok, you do that now, then you will not have to worry anymore the rest of the night. You have worked very hard and you need to relax and enjoy the fruits of your labor." mom says.

"Yes mom",I replied as I walked out of the suite and went down in the elevator to the ballroom floor. Our head of security George is also making sure helpers are doing as I instructed. I guess my parents thought it through and really want me to have a good time.

The ballroom is in great hands so I went to check the dining area And just gonna do a quick walkthrough the dining area and the ballroom is connected. The people will be able to sit and talk at the tables or watch the people waltzing around on the dance floor. They are hanging Box paper lights hanging over the dining area, and dangling icicle lights twinkling in all different sizes over the dance floor. The tables are covered with long silver table clothes with short cut purple tipped pink roses standing in the center of the tables... perfect!

My parents come in and let me know that the guests are starting to arrive. IQ the servers to get the glasses ready to offer. My mom and dad greet the line of guests entering as I stay off to the side with a soft smile for receiving so many compliments that everything looks Really elegant.

One pack catches my attention, or maybe it's just 1 of them in particular. I stand unmoved waiting to see if he notices me. Then out of nowhere a she Wolf runs up to him and wraps him in a big hug. I just look away, apparently he already has a mate. Why wouldn't he tall tan Built with the most mesmerizing eyes.. plus he is dressed in a navy suit baby blue shirt with the top 2 buttons undone. The top of his head is a messy curly mass of hair that stops just above his eyes. Very eye-catching indeed.
