The following morning Aiden opened his eyes and stretched the soreness away. The ability to sleep was nonexistent that night, no matter how hard he tried. He chalked it up to bad nerves and a strange feeling that something was going to happen. Slowly he climbed out of bed so he didn’t wake Misty; he walked to the closet and picked out clothes so he could go for a run. He quickly dressed, kissed Misty’s forehead, and left the room. His jog around the border was eerily quiet. The normal soundtrack of nature was diminished, only leaving him with the sound of the leaves blowing in the trees. As he passed his border guards, he questioned if they needed anything or noticed anything out of the ordinary. The answer was consistent between them all; nothing strange was going on.
