Chapter 12 Sabrina "So, Matt, how are you feeling today?" I ask the warrior sitting at my kitchen table. "Great, Luna. I'm a little sluggish but otherwise perfect." He grins at me. "You can call me Sabrina. I'm not officially your luna yet. I have some herbs for you that should help with your blood loss. Have your mate make you a tea using these once a day, and you should be perfect in about a week. Drink this and then have her start tomorrow." I had him a mug of the tea along with a bag of herbs. "So, Sabrina. Alpha stay here last night?" Kyle asks, wiggling his eyebrows at me.  I can't help but burst into laughter at how goofy he looks right now. Kyle is one of those people who can instantly channel a situation and make it better. I'm glad that he is with me today because I fear Eva's going to be hard to deal with. "He did, and he is moving in, you know that!" I playfully punch his shoulder. "First, we are going to get a few things done around here, and then I need you to link Eva to meet us at the clinic. I need to take a closer look at the supplies and equipment. I also need to talk with Eva." "There is something there that I don't feel comfortable with, Sabrina. She couldn't do anything to help me yesterday, and the look in her eye was like she had no clue what to do. Do you think she is really a healer?" Matt asks. "I'm not sure. It could be she's never had any training to help her. Or it could be she has very little power. Either way, I'm going to find out and try to fix the problem. With a pack this size, we need at the very least two healers. I would like to see more. There's no reason why we should have to go to the human hospitals for help." Both men nod in agreement with what I'm saying. "She's a sweet girl and I don't want to make this any harder on her than necessary. I know she felt very deeply for Oliver and all this is going to be a strain on her." I say looking at a skeptical Kyle. "Sabrina, you have to know what this looks like. A healer to an alpha who we aren't sure can actually heal. The talk of the pack is that she faked the whole thing so she could get close to Oliver. Doesn't that bother you?" Kyle asks with a worried expression. "Of course it does. I'm not that naive. I only want to get information before I jump to any conclusions. I can't go around jumping on every little rumor or random thought I may have. I have to be fair and have information to back all my decisions." I say and sigh. "You're made to be a luna," Matt says, chuckling. The next couple of hours is spent getting things moved around in the house so Oliver's things should fit right in. The guys have been making me forget all my troubles with their constant joking and playing around. Even though all of it, we still managed to get everything done quickly. Kyle links Eva to meet us at the clinic, and we head off. We arrive, and Eva is nowhere to be found. She must have been further away than I thought. I make my way inside and start forming a list of what is here. It's no surprise to me when I find barely anything here. There are a few bandages and some creams spread throughout the rooms, and that is it. I'm shocked that this has even been called a clinic. I look for any type of area that would hold patient information and come up with nothing. My suspicions of Eva grow by the minute as I wait for her.  "Kyle, how long has this clinic been here?" I ask as he is counting bandages. "Eva started it, so not very long at all. This was an extra building that the pack wasn't using." Kyle says. "So, before Eva came along, everyone went to the hospitals? What about births?"  "The Doctor that comes in here for births would go into people's homes before," Matt says. I hear the door open and in walks Eva. She looks like she hasn't been sleeping, and her eyes are red and swollen. When the guys notice, they head outside, making up an excuse to avoid the situation. I know they stay close by, but they are attempting to give us some space to talk. "Hi, Eva. How are you?" I ask in a soft voice. "I've been a hell of a lot better." She sighs. "I'm not trying to start anything."  "I get it, and I'm sorry you're going through this."  "Are you really, though?" She snaps back at me. "What?" I ask, confused and frustrated. "I'm sure you're happy to have stolen him away and to make me look stupid in front of the pack!" She yells and sobs. "Eva, that is the last thing that I wanted to happen. I never intended to steal anything or to make you feel stupid." I sigh. "I can't help that Oliver is my mate. You know that, and you also know that you have a mate out there somewhere. I want to help with the healing. I need you to be honest with me. Are you a healer?" I ask her, hoping that she will give me a straight answer. I look at her and see that she is looking at her feet, lost in thought. It feels like she is trying to decide how to answer that question. If she says that she isn't, she could be in a lot of trouble for lying to the pack. If she says she is, then she looks incompetent. "Look, I know that the question is a double-edged sword. If you will tell me the truth, I will try to help you as much as possible. I don't want to see you hurt, but I can't allow the pack to be hurt either." I sit down in a chair and look at her. "I can do small things like cuts and scraps. I'm not sure how he healed so quick when we were... well you know." She can't look me in the eye as she says this. "If you have some power, then maybe we can build on that. I would like to help train you. It could be that you have more power than you know. Without training, it's hard to use healing power. Would you be willing to let me help you?" I ask. She huffs and sighs as she thinks about it. I think she's torn on how to feel about my help. She sits there and continues to think until she suddenly smiles and gets excited. Part of me is afraid to know what she's thinking and another part is hopeful that she wants to learn. "Sure, I'll let you train me." Eva smiles and walks over to me. "We'll be spending tons of time together I take it?"  "Of course. Let's get started on this clinic. First thing you need to know about healing is..."  We spend the next three hours working in the clinic and training. It's scary to think that Eva didn't even know the basics of first aid. The fact that she was made a healer for the pack leads me to believe that it was more for her relationship with Oliver than anything. I try to push that thought to the back of my mind and focus on figuring the clinic out. Once I feel like I have spent enough time going over the clinic, Matt and Kyle walk me back home. I arrive just in time for the people moving Oliver's stuff to show up. I give directions on where things should go, and the guys help get things in order.  Once everything is done, I tell Kyle and Matt they can head home and get some rest. They leave even though they would rather stay until Oliver gets home. I start dinner and get myself cleaned up from my work today.  I'm putting the finishing touches on the food as Oliver walks through the door. "Something smells great." He says, walking over to me. "Dinner will be ready for you as soon as you're ready to eat." I smile at him and hug him. Oliver stiffens in surprise and then wraps his arm around me while kissing my forehead. I'm trying to make an effort to move forward and forget the past. I know the best way to do this is to listen to my heart and my wolf. They will lead me to where I need to be. "How was your day?" I ask as we sit down to eat. "Well, we haven't learned anything helpful about the attack. I talked to a few other alpha's and, they haven't had anything like it ever happen. So we are still at a loss. How was your day?" He asks digging, into his food and moaning from the taste. "It went pretty well. I think Eva may have some power, and we are going to work on training. The clinic needs major work. The way it is now, I don't even know why she bothered. Can I ask you a question?" I say, playing with the food on my plate. He nods yes as he eats. "Who made Eva healer and why?"
