Chapter 3

Lucius led us into the basement and on a glass table lay four golden wands and a crystal ball. Lucius looked at me. “Your mission is to go back to the past, save Rome from the clutches and evil, when you return back, we will send you home.” I gaped at him like he's lost his senses. I was still digesting this information when they all picked up their wands, closed their eyes and began chanting “Prin puterea sa acordat de Hekate, lăsați ușile de timp să fie deschise și să trimită acest suflet înapoi în timp de la Roma. Prin puterea sa acordat de Hekate, lăsați această supă să se întoarcă la Roma în timpul lui Caesar Marcus Augustus Aurelius, prin puterea acordată de Hekate, așa că motorul este.” I didn't understand what they were chanting but just then, the crystal ball began emitting blinding white lights and they started chanting louder and faster. And that's when it happened, I felt a searing pain in my body and my consciousness was fading, I could barely keep my eyes open. All I could hear was the faintly Lucius voice “The fate of the entire Rome is now in your hands. Journey well, return with victory and let History be rewritten.” And that's when I blacked out. * * * * The first thing I noticed when I woke up was that I've grown taller, my skin had been tanned and as I looked down at my belly, I could see six rock-ass abs. I looked myself over and noticed I was dressed in a yellow kilt and a cross belt. I found a sheathed sword by my waist. It felt I had reincarnated into the body of someone else, possibly a warrior apprentice of some sort. I hadn't even taken a step when I heard the neighing of a horse, I looked behind me and saw a black horse that was staring at me like I was some kind of an alien, hmm, the horse seems to be the property of whomever formerly owned the body. Either way I dragged the horse by its muzzle and went north from where I was. I didn't know where I was going but I've heard that whenever someone gets lost, the best thing to do is head north. About an hour of walking, a huge wall came in sight, I kept on heading towards it and I saw medieval soldiers with spears and all dressed in red kilts and red capes with medieval helmets. I knew at once this was Rome. I took the horse and passed through the gate, such a magnificent city, houses like the middle east and people dressed in kilts, gowns, overalls and tonics, what a sight. I was simply strolling around the city and enjoying the scenery when I heard some muffled sounds at some dark alley, I left my horse and silently walked over to where the sound was coming from. “A beautiful maid such as you with diamonds around your neck, just stay quiet and we will give you a good time.” A lean man was holding on to a girl, she seemed so pretty and fragile. I looked past them both and saw a burly man, that's when I knew that they had cornered her and planned to do detestable things to her. I didn't know what I was supposed to do in such a situation, but I knew I had to do something. “Let her go.” I said fearfully, my voice was a bit squeaky, but it got their attention. “Who are you boy, just keep walking and maybe you'll live.” the lean man said and smiled as he brought out a dagger from his kilt. I became scared when I saw the dagger, but then I heard this strange voice in my head “Why are you shying away from a fight, go teach those fools a lesson. Or better still let me do it.” I got a hold of myself, closed my eyes, concentrated and let my inner self do the job. “You seem to have misunderstood, I said let..her..go.” I said in a menacing voice. The burly man came over like a tank, swung a right punch, I ducked down and punched his side, *c***k* I shattered his ribcage in just one punch, he fell limp and didn't make another sound.
