The busy day flew by unnoticed...
Later, after a cold shower in the dorm bathroom, I lay exhausted on my bed. The new bedding exuded a fresh, pleasant smell! It was truly comfortable, a world of difference compared to sleeping outdoors. Jack, freshly showered, frantically scratched his wet head in his own bed. The others were getting ready for bed.
The lights-out bell rang, and they began their nightly activity. Legend has it this is a Dormitory 15 tradition, but I can tell it originated from the fact that no one in this group wants to be left out. After the activities, it was bedtime, always prime time for students to gossip. As usual, they took turns telling stories. Since I was new and probably tired of hearing the others' stories, they urged me to tell them first. I couldn't persuade them, so I reluctantly told them some legend of a certain wizard I'd heard on the road. They said it was boring, so I switched to a love story. I randomly made up a story and went on:
"Once upon a time, there was a pair of lovers who were very much in love. The man was Luo Something Ou and the woman was Zhu Something Ye. One day, they met under a tree. Zhu Something Ye went first, waiting for her lover to arrive. Suddenly, a lion appeared, and Zhu Something Ye fled in fear. Then Luo Something Ou arrived, spotted the lion, and after chasing it away, he saw his lover's veil lying on the ground, thinking she had been eaten. Overwhelmed with grief, he drew his sword and committed suicide. Zhu Something Ye rushed back, saw his lover committing suicide, and then he did the same. From then on, the tree bore black fruit." At this point, I pretended to be deeply saddened by my own story.
"Damn! This story is awful! Comrade Richie, only kids could come up with this kind of plot. Can you make us up something more noble?" Jack yelled in dissatisfaction. The others also exclaimed that my story was terrible. With no other options, I had to spin a story about some of the ordinary treasures I stole as a thief and told it to them. To my surprise, they all jumped up and listened with gusto. They were so thoroughly entertained and excited that they praised my talent for making up ridiculous stories.
Making up stories? ? ?
I just chuckled and brushed it off. It was Jack's turn next. Jack straightened his expression and said, "Tonight I'll show you a battle against a demon thief. It's real. Listen carefully!"
Oh? It's about me. I couldn't help but perk up and listen!
Jack cleared his throat and said, "The demon thief is said to be extremely ugly and ferocious, with a face full of flesh!"
I touched my face as I heard it. Was he really that ugly?
Jack continued, "He's eight feet tall! He's as strong as a bear and as powerful as a bull."
I looked at my skinny body, speechless.
Jack took a deep breath and began to speak continuously: "After the CIA was founded, plot points were set up around the world to investigate the movements of the Destroyer Thief... ... ... He spoke darkly and mysteriously, "I heard that the devil thief killed a thousand guards and has now escaped. He might wreak havoc somewhere else~~~~~"
This sent chills down the spines of everyone in the dormitory. He threatened with a shrill, fearful whisper, "Maybe he's already escaped to our school! He'll unleash a bloodbath at Indruin College on a moonless night!" The dormitory was silent, but the atmosphere was tense.
"Ah!" Jack suddenly cried out.
Everyone was startled out of their wits by the sudden noise. Jack, seeing the intended effect, burst into laughter. Then, unwilling to be outdone, everyone started to tell all sorts of ghost stories.
Alas! Another neverwinter night.
Morning was one of the coolest days of the hot season. Thinking back to last night's tossing and turning in bed, I woke up to a cool and comfortable feeling. The call to get up rang out. Having slept so late the previous night, everyone was still feeling quite low, and the group clung to their beds, yawning profusely. But there's no way around it. Everyone has to go to class today.

The Thief Mage, latest chapter, Chapter 19, URL: Jack awoke listlessly. He rubbed his bleary eyes and sat up, muttering, "Ah! It's another Black Monday! You know you have class today, yet you're still up so late!"
The thief is crying out for help. Everyone cast angry glances at this guy.
I sat up too and shook my sleepy head. Ever since I woke up, I've been feeling a strange mental state. It seems like I've been damaged by mental overexertion. Mental damage is very long-lasting, and it seems I'll need some time to recover.
Since they'd heard about my fainting incident, everyone suggested I go with them to the introductory magic class.
With my current abilities, the school's first to sixth grade courses probably don't cover what I need to learn. I'm a complete master of wind-based magic, but the other courses are completely meaningless to me. It's embarrassing to say I've never attended a class in my life. I figured I'd go with them and see what it's like. Spending time together is key to successful relationships. Hanging out with them like this is definitely better than staying alone in the dorm.
After finishing my morning chores, I dejectedly followed them, and as they led me, I began heading to the introductory magic class.
Walking along the main road leading to the teaching area, the traffic was surging. It was Monday, and it seemed like there were a lot of students heading to class this morning. After breakfast, Jack and his friends, familiar with the route, led me through several narrow paths. Using these shortcuts, we quickly arrived at the teaching area of Indrui Academy.
I saw rows of classrooms neatly arranged among the dense trees. The road was bustling with students, a school of at least 100,000 students, all rushing to the teaching area at the same time. Although the road was wide, I still accidentally bumped into people's arms while walking. I finally figured out why Jack and his friends always stayed where the girls were.
Most of the students were dressed casually, likely because the school doesn't specifically require uniforms except on special holidays. Of course, this excludes people like Jack, who doesn't particularly care about his clothes. Besides his uniform, he only has one other set of clothes. He wears each piece of clothing for at least three to five days before changing, so he'll be in uniform four days in a row each week.
Generally, when someone inexplicably avoids him, he'll change into his other outfit.
