Chapter 9Tyler’s mother had been asleep when he returned home after the attack on The Otherworld. It was just as well, he knew, as there was no way he could explain the last few hours to her. All he could envision as he paced his studio, too wound up to even try to sleep, was the c*****e that had ensued. The fact Marin had been shot was at the forefront of his thoughts at that point. He wanted to call him, to make certain Hagen had told the truth that one of the vampires would have healed him. Twice, he took out his phone, his finger pressed to ‘redial’ when he found Marin’s call to him from that afternoon, each time realizing it was his business number and he wouldn’t be there to answer.
