Alejandro's pov
“Don please forgive me, I didn't mean to betray you. He threatened me,”I used the cutter to chop his right hand, he screamed in pain. I love those screams. They call me the devil, anyone who betrays me knows there would be a grievous consequence. I am Alenjandro Delagado, I rule the underworld, the whole New York belongs to me,I was trained for this. The screams, the agony of people's cry was nothing to me. My father made me this way. The first person I killed was one of our men. My dad told me to pull the trigger. I was scared I could not do it but he held my hands and pulled the trigger. Those memories, how my mum would beat to pulp and make sleep on the floor for days with a meal.
I took over the mafia business when I was 20, I ruled and established it more. They taught me how to dominate, crush,and never show no weakness. My mother was just ruthless, she taught me how to manipulate without breaking a sweat.
New York, trembles at the mention of my name. They know I am the one who controls the streets, elites and businesses. They bow to me out of fear and respect, they have no choice than to obey me.
People whisper about me, about the deals I have made , the lives I have ruined, they know better than to cross me, to betray me. Have made examples of those who did, they won't make the same mistake twice.
I stepped out of my penthouse apartment, into the Manhattan morning. The city was alive, bustling with people, trying to earn a living but they all knew one thing, I was the one who really ran this city. My driver Jake, stood waiting by the car, “ good morning, sir,” he said, opening the door for me. I nodded, sliding into the backseat. “ Jake, I need you to take care of something for me. There's a business rival, who had been making trouble, make him an offer he can't refuse “. Jake nodded, his expression neutral, “Yes sir, I'll take care of it”.
We reached the office building,the crowd was huge. I took the elevator, which rode us to the top floor where my office was revealed. I sat behind my desk, tapping my fingers on it as I looked at my best friend Tonio, who was also my second in common. “We need to discuss the outstanding debt, who owes us, and who's been paying up?”.
Tonio brought out a notebook, flipping through the pages, “Let's see.. Thompson has been paying on time, Jackson associates have been dragging his feet, And there's Morales account, they are three months behind…?”.
I nodded, my mind calculating the benefit and risk, “ Let's make an example out of Jackson associates, send a message telling them we won't tolerate late payment”. “ I'll take care of it boss”,he said, a small smile playing on his lip. I leaned back to my chair, “And find out why Morales has not been paying” . Marcus nodded, “ I'll do something about it”.
Tonio left my office, and I turned my attention to the stack of papers on my desk, contract, investment and financial report. Just then, someone knocked, it was my assistant, “Mr Delgado, there's someone here to see you, Ms Thompson, sadid it's urgent”. I raised an eyebrow. What does Thompson's daughter want?, what could be urgent?, I thought . “Send her in”, I said. The door opened again, revealing a young woman. She was tall and beautiful with long hair. It was her determination that caught me.
“ Mr Delgado”,she said , “ I want to speak to you about my father”, I leaned back, “what about him?”. She took a deep breath, “ you've been pressuring him the payments,I know he's been struggling. But I have a proposal that could benefit us both”. Feeling interested, what could she possibly have to offer?, “Go on”,I said, my voice neutral. She took another deep breath, her words coming out in a rush, “ I can offer you something in exchange of easing the pressure on my father. Something that could give you a significant advantage in the city”.
I leaned forward, my elbow on the desk, my eyes locked on hers, “ What exactly do you have in mind?”, I asked, she hesitated before spilling the word out, “ I have important information about the merger between the Morano and Santos families”. If you were…to facilitate the deal,I'm sure you could benefit greatly.
My eyes narrowed, intrigued with the deal, the two families were powerful players in the city and a merger between them could shift the balance of power, I leaned back in my chair, “ Go on”. She leaned forward, her eyes full of determination,
“The Morano family is looking to expand their operation, and the Santos family had the resources to make it happen,but there's only one thing standing in their way, You. “
Me?, she nodded, yes you're the only one who can facilitate the deal, Morano trusts you and the Santos family respects you.If you were to broker this merger you would gain a significant amount of power and more influence in the city. I leaned forward,my eyes locked on hers,”I am intrigued about your proposal but I'll get back to you, I need to pay someone a visit”, I'll be in touch, and I'll make sure to give your proposal a good consideration. She nodded, while my assistant escorted her out. It's time to pay Morales a visit.
“Tonio arrange the car”, ok boss. I smiled, looking forward to the conversation I want to have with Morales. They would regret crossing part with Alejandro Delgado.
I stepped out of my car, Tonio beside me, with a nod, I gestured to my men and they swiftly removed the door. I strode into the house, Morales' face was pale and sweaty, he was not expecting my visit.
“ Mr Delgado, what are you?”
I cut him off, my voice cold and calculated, “You have three months unpaid debt, Morales you care to explain?”. As Morales stuttered, his daughter walked forward with a filatrious look, she ran her hands in my chest, I caught her and shoved her away. “such a slut”.
Turning to my left, I saw an angel. She was beautiful in every word with striking blue eyes, she was petite, a little bit curvy with her long brown hair. Something drew me to her, a feeling I haven't had in a long time. I want to protect her, I want to make her my queen. She's going to be min
