(Annapoorna’s POV)
"You're joking" I said, flabbergasted.
"What's there to joke about?" Amma replied, peacefully sipping her tea.
She had actually agreed to the foolish idea of attending a school!?
I thought she'd disagree like how she always has whenever it's brought up. It's not like she's against it, it's just that she doesn't approve of the concept, and so do I!
"Amma, you can't be serious right now, I don't want to go!"
There's no convincing my mom once her mind is set on something. But I have to try, right?
I didn't think she'd agree to this, but it seems I thought wrong.
"Even if you agree with this, why not just send Eesha. Why me!"
"Anna, this is not something I decided on my own. Me and ur father think it's time for you to start socializing. Go out, meet new people, try new things. This is the age to explore. You won't be this young again."
"You know how I don't like being in social situations! I hate how anxious I get around people! I can live my life without other people interfering!"
I could tell my mother was losing her patience.
"Anna. You're attending with your sister and that's final. Whether you want to socialize or not is up to you. All I'm saying is that it would be nice if you made a few friends your age."
I sighed
She's not going to change her mind is she?
I got up and walked towards the door. Just as I was about to reach the doorknob, I heard something crash from above.
It sounded like it was from Eesha's bedroom. Me and amma rushed up the stairs to see what had happened.
When we opened the door, we found Eesha's room in complete disarray. clothes everywhere, pens scattered on her desk, crumpled papers at the corner of the room. But what caught our attention was the broken cupboard lying on the ground. Turns out the crash was from her cupboard falling down.
"I was trying to take some stuff from the top of it when it suddenly fell!" Eesha said as she put on an innocent face.
Knowing her, she probably did some stunt but I didn't say it out loud.
"What's done is done, it seems now we'll have to get you a new cupboard." my mother said as she inspected the broken pieces.
"This is why you should have made a walk-in closet for me like you made one for akka!" Eesha glared at me like it was my fault she didn't have one.
"It's not my fault you ruin everything you touch. You're irresponsible! That's why appa didn't build you one!"
"Enough. Eesha stop fighting with ur sister, we'll get you a new one tomorrow, and Anna, go make a list of what we need to buy for you guys."
I sighed. "Well, I guess if we're actually attending then we might as well go all out"
