If, one week ago, Ellory had woken in the early blue of morning to find the dark shadow of a man asleep by his bed, he would have jumped for the nearest heavy object. He wouldn’t have immediately recognized the blanket-covered lump as Sean Vernon, and if he had, he wouldn’t have taken comfort at the knowledge.  He muffled his groan as his tight muscles protested his movement, but he desperately needed the restroom and he was not about to wet himself when he still had his wits about him.
