I want to apologize to you all for not putting out a new chapter sooner... Unfortunately, my laptop wouldn't work for a while, also, I have started new medication that is really messing with me... To top it all off, there has been a death in my family and I can't seem to move passed it. I have written chapter 11, but it may be different or feel different to you all. I really am sorry. Hopefully, I can get back on track with this book and have it completed before the end of summer. Though that might be too optimistic seeing as I hand write the chapter before typing it. Keeping a hand written copy has been something that I have always done. Anyways, Here's chapter 11.
Ava's P.O.V
Henry and I walked to Levi's office. Levi looked up and smiled at me. His smile always made my heart flutter and my stomach fill with butterflies. My visit with Nana and Aunt Luna didn't feel long to me, but to Levi and the pack, I've been gone for days. When I leave, I don't feel what everyone else feels. I feel like I've only stepped away for a few moments, but everyone else can feel my bond with them temporarily break. They know when I'm in the shadows too. I try to use the shadows as little as I can, because some pack members don't like the feeling of the bond breaking.
The pack had grown to be well over two-hundred members. There are still more members being added to the pack everyday. Some just want to fight in the upcoming war, while others just want a place to call home. Levi thought it best to have the newest members live in the pack house. Some needed roommates due to past traumas, and some needed to be left alone due to being alone for a long time. Henry and Levi do the best they can to help everyone out when I'm not around, but nothing compares to the love from a Luna.
"How was your visit?" Levi pulled me into a tight hug. I won't lie, when I come back, I can feel the time difference and the loneliness from the pack. "Did you find anything out from The Moon Goddess?"
I nodded. "Yes. She said that my dreams are a warning and that they will go away soon. She also said that battle is coming. Unfortunately , she doesn't know when it's coming."
Levi nodded. "Anything else?"
I shook my head. "No. Nothing else. I can't stay away too long anyways. The pack gets too restless. You know that."
I looked up at Levi and smiled, but a hand hit my head. I yelped. "Don't hold back from your mate, Little Sister. Remember, I know what you are feeling."
I growled. "My parents were there. My Mom apologized and they know that Ember is pregnant."
"Are you accepting her apology?" Levi asked.
I sighed. "Well, I care for them, but I'm not sure if I can." I really do care for them, but it's not easy to forgive something like that. Especially not with how many scars Ember was left with. "I can try, but I don't make any promises. My Mom is still a Rouge, and I would prefer to keep it that way right now."
Levi nodded. "When you feel ready, then it's up to you."
Levi knew exactly what I needed to hear. He was always like this, kind and considerate. Most Alpha's around this country were ruling with and iron fist. We weren't like that. Yes, we had rules and laws to follow, but Levi and I decided that it was best that we treated the pack with respect and treat them like they are family. With us doing that, our pack was the strongest in the country. With us respecting them, they were respectful to us.
"Alpha, Luna! There is someone on the boarder asking to come in."
I looked over at our newest pack house Omega. "What is it they want?"
"The guard said that the wolf looks hurt. A werewolf child, but they can't tell the gender."
I opened my link to the guards on patrol. "Who is with the pup?"
"I am Luna. The pup won't let me near." Ken replied. I knew right where he was. "What do you want me to do?"
"Tell the pup that I'm coming. Tell them that I want to make sure they are okay." Quickly stripping my clothes off and shifting, I opened my link to everyone in the house. "Open the front door! Emergency at the border! I need two pack doctors! One male and one female!" I tore down the stairs to the front door. I leaped off the front porch and ran. The doctors ran just behind me, carrying their med kits with their mouths and their coats tied around their necks.
I got to the boarder and shifted. "Luna," Ken paused to bow. "The pup is on the other side of that tree there. They hid when I told them that you were coming."
I nodded and stepped over the boarder. "You can come out, little one. I won't hurt you. I brought some doctors to help make you feel better. " The pup didn't come out, but I could hear them breathing heavy in fear, "It's alright, little one, I promise, no one will hurt you."
"Ava, let me try." Henry said from behind me. I nodded and Henry kneeled down beside me. "Hi there, little one. I'm Henry. Will you come out and play with me?"
"No Henry. Me want Luna Penny."
Luna Penny? Was this pup talking about my Mom? "I might be able to help you. I'm Luna Ava. Could you tell me what Luna Penny looks like?"
"No. Luna Penny dead." I frowned. Was this pup a survivor from a fallen pack? "Alpha Davy dead. Nana, Papa, Mama, Dada, Big Bwover dead."
I felt my heart break. Alpha David was killed by hunters in his own bed, but that was three years ago. "Ken, how old did the pup look?"
"I'm sorry Luna, I couldn't tell."
"I'll sing you a lullaby. Luna Ava loved it when I would sing to when she was just a pup. Do you want that?" When the pup peeked around the tree, I could see that their eyes were two different colors, just like mine, only, theirs were ice blue and a dark brown that could easily be mistaken for black. The pup nodded to Henry.
In school, Henry had taken Swedish as his second language. He has learned it just so he could sing me to sleep when I had my nightmares. When he started singing, I knew the song right away.
"Vargen ylar i nattens skog
Han vill men kan inte sova
Hungern river i hans varga buk
Och det är kallt i hans stova
Du varg du varg, kom inte hit
Ungen min får du aldrig
Vargen ylar i nattens skog
Ylar av hunger o klagar
Men jag ska ge'n en grisa svans
Sent passar i varga magar
Du varg du varg, kom inte hit
Unger min for du Aldrin."
I ended up singing with Henry. The Wolf Song was one of my favorites. By the end of the song, I had a bleeding, but safely sleeping pup in my arms. I decided it was best that Henry and I kept singing the song until the pup was washed up, dressed and their wounds taken care of.
Only once did she wake up, but once she saw Henry and I, she went back to sleep. The doctors took some blood from her. When they came back, they didn't look happy. Due to an old injury, Dr. Halis couldn't use his voice anymore. Dr. Halis refused to join the pack because he couldn't talk, but his mate could speak for him. "Her body is fighting an infection. She's roughly two years old. Her wounds are from severe abuse. no werewolf could have done this. We think most of the scars she has, were from when she was still in her mothers womb."
I couldn't hold it anymore. I hugged the little girl to my chest and cried. Henry was crying beside me. We could feel each others sadness, that made the urge to cry even stronger. "I'm so sorry, little one. I will take care of you from now on. I swear to the Moon Goddess that I will."
"No cry. I okay. Mama said I warrior."
I sniffled. "Do you know your name?"
"Master no let Mama name."
My eyes burned as another wave of tears flowed from my eyes. "Ava! Are you okay?" Levi burst into the room, scaring the pup and making her scream.
I held her tight to my chest. "It's okay. That's my mate, Alpha Levi." She looked between Henry and Levi and furrowed her brow. She must have thought that Henry was my mate.
"Ava is my little sister, I'm her big brother. Levi over there, is Ava's mate. My mate is pregnant with my pup."
I had to admit, she was smart for a two year old. Her speech was lacking, but that would be easy to fix. "Levi, please don't be mad or upset with me."
Levi furrowed his brow. "Why would I be? I mean, I can't. I love you way too much for any of that." He wrapped his arms around my head, pulling me close to his chest.
"I'm keeping her. She needs a home and a family."
"Of course. I'm sure there is room in the orphanage for her. Once she's all better, we can send her there."
"No Levi. I am keeping her. She is my child now."
He stepped back and looked at me. "Are you sure you want to do this? We don't know how to raise a child. We haven't had a pup yet. Ava," He paused and knelt down in front of me. "Are you completely sure you want to do this?"
I looked him dead in the eyes and squared my shoulders. "I am half Goddess, once I make up my mind, I do not change it. I'm stubborn like my mother and soft hearted like my father. I will adopt her and she will be mine. If you have a problem with that, than reject me."
Levi looked as hurt as I felt. "Never. I will never reject you. We will raise her. We will lover her like she is of our blood. We will figure out how to raise her together. I can be stupid and paranoid from time to time, but I'm not stupid enough to reject you."
I couldn't help but pull him to me and kiss him passionately. After a moment, I pulled back and smiled. I turned to my daughter and smiled softly. "We are going to adopt you. We are going to be your parents now. Is that okay with you, Isabella?"
Isabella looked at me like she was going to cry. "Yes, Mama."
I pulled her close to my chest. "Jag lovar att älska dig till mitt sista andetag." I placed a gentle kiss on the top of her head. "I promise to love you until my last breath." I whispered low enough that only Isabella could hear me.
I spent the next week in the hospital with Isabella. She was the cutest little girl I'd had the pleasure of meeting.
The doctors had found that she is deaf in one ear. They said that someone had purposefully shoved something in her ear to make her deaf. When they did x-rays, they saw three fractured ribs and her pelvic bone was broken. They did an internal exam, which I almost killed them when I heard Isabella cry, they found that she had been raped. Her womb was badly bruised and she had internal bleeding in her bowels. Her tonsils were infected to the point Dr. Halis had to remove them. "Luna," Mrs. Halis called me. "May I please speak to you outside?" I nodded and kissed Isabella on her forehead before following Mrs. Halis out of the room. "Luna, we ran more tests on her blood after we found that she was raped. The DNA we found inside her, matches to a human. I assume that this human's DNA is a hunter. Her blood however, shows that whoever raped her, has given her a disease."
I felt my anger rise. I could feel two links trying to come in, but I was way too pissed off to open them. "Can she be treated?" I grit my teeth together and clenched my jaw. Whoever this human was, I was going to find them and rip them apart.
"No, Luna. I'm sorry. We have no treatments to cure it, however, she is still young and her wolf has yet to come out. Her wolf may be able to heal her." Mrs. Halis paused and took my hands in hers. "I will pray to the Moon Goddess. I'll pray that she can allow Isabella's wolf to heal her." She gave me a sad smile and walked away. I trembled in anger. I needed to find out who did this. There was only one being that would know, and I killed him.
Penelope's P.O.V
After Ava left, Death and I left soon after. Mother said that she wanted Zayden for a few of our days. Death and I agreed and told her that we would be back in three days to get him. When we got back to my Dad's house, I grabbed Death's hand. "Death, I want to go see Ava again. I miss my daughter."
Death smiled at me. "I'll see if she is available." I watched as he stepped into the shadows. I waited a few minutes before he came back. He looked upset and angry. I furrowed my brow at him. "We have a two year old, adopted, grandchild. I heard what the doctor said to Ava, and I don't think it would be good to tell you with how impulsive you are."
I glared at him. "Excuse me? If there is something wrong with my grandchild, I want to know. Plus, we swore there would be no secrets between us. " I growled and he stepped back.
He let out a sigh before he had me sit down on the couch. "Well, I went to the past after finding out about Isabella. She is deaf in one ear, has three fractured ribs, a broken pelvic bone, has had her tonsils removed because they were very infected. She's been raped. The doctors think that it was a hunter who did this to her. They found human DNA inside her." I gasped. I could feel my tears threatening to fall. "That's not the worst part, that human gave her a disease." He growled.
I felt my anger rise. "Who made humans again? Your father, right?" He nodded. "I have a feeling I know where Ava is going to go."
Ava's P.O.V
I stormed up to Levi's office and kicked the door open, literally. "A-Ava? Is everything okay?" Levi looed at me.
I growled. "No. Isabella has been raped by a human. Mrs. Halis believes that it was a hunter who did this to her. He gave our sweet little girl a disease!"
Levi looked like he was about to explode. "How do we find him?"
"I'm going to my grandfather. Tell the pack that their princess has been harmed. I'm going to get my grandfather to spill and I'm bringing that sick f**k back here to be punished." I could feel Zuri just under the surface. I was so mad that I was very tempted to let her out.
I slipped into the shadows. They felt oddly crowded today. When I stepped out of the shadows, I saw Lilly, Mom and Dad standing there. "What are you doing here?" I growled. For a split second, I felt bad because they had no clue as to why I was so angry.
"Ava, baby. We know what's going on. We've come to help you." Mom pulled me into a hug.
I felt Zuri surge forward. I had to use a lot of force to keep her down. "Let go. Zuri is on the edge." I grit through my teeth.
She let go and stepped back. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to push her. I'm sure my status bothers her as well."
"That's not what's pissing me off." Zuri growled. "That bastard is still out there possibly doing what he did to my pup, to someone else's! I want him dead!" Zuri howled. This wasn't a normal howl, this was a war cry.
I didn't bother talking much to Mom or Dad. I glared at Lilly. "Where is that murderous bastard I call a grandfather?" Lilly instantly brought his soul over. I closed my eyes and touched his soul. I could see him lying on a pool chair on a beach. I growled at him. He jumped and stood up. "You are needed. Let's go."
"N-no. I will not go anywhere with you." His shaking determination didn't work with me.
"The humans you created are hunting my kind, raping the women and children. One of those children happens to be my daughter. Either you come with me, or I make this place Hell. If there is a God, there is a Devil. I won't hesitate to hand him your soul if you refuse me." I growled, barely holding Zuri back.
I watched him gulp and nod. "Okay, what is it that you need from me?"
Once I had my grandfather in a temporary body, I handed him the DNA I took from Mrs. Halis. "Find him." I growled.
I watched as he closed his eyes. After a few minutes, I grew impatient and growled. He opened his eyes. "There were three of them. They are currently sitting 18 miles from where you pack is located."
"How many hunter are out there?" I growled through gritted teeth.
He looked down, hesitating to answer me. Mom and Dad had been quiet until now. They were both growling at him now. "There are millions all over the world. Your pack doesn't have enough members to even take half of them on. You abominations will never be enough to take on my hunters." Pure hatred shined brightly in his eyes.
"Just because you have a temporary body, doesn't mean you don't feel pain. I'll gladly give you to my pack for practice."
He didn't stop with his threats, so I took him through the shadows to the center of my pack lands. "What do you think your little mutts can do to me? Kill me?" He laughed. "I'm already dead!"
I ignored him and opened my link to my entire pack who had wolves. "Hello my wonderful pack. I have opened a link to you all for a reason. Those of you who can shift, please do so and come to the center of town. Those of you who cannot shift for any reason, please come in your human form. I have something with me that you will enjoy." I closed the link and turned to my grandfather. "Which way are those three hunter located." I demanded.
He scoffed. "As if I would tell you." Unfortunately for him, he couldn't feel what I felt when it came to my pack. I could feel them shifting and slowly gathering around.
"You might want to, before IU tell my pack who you are and what you have done. They don't take well to murderers."
He gulped. "If I tell you, will you spare me?"
"Possibly."
"They are East of here." By the time he told me, my pack had already gathered, both wolf and human forms.
"Hello all." I raised my voice so that all could hear me clearly. "I'd like you to meet my grandfather. As you all know, my father is the Grim Reaper, this man here, is his father. He is the one who created everything, except our kind. This is the same man who killed my mother, scared my face and, worst of all, created the hunters that we fight against on the daily. The same hunters that harmed my daughter, your princess." I paused there to allow him to hear hundreds of angry growls. I watched as his fear grew. I couldn't help but smirk at him. "Dusk Pack!" I called, using my Luna voice. "Those who are unable to shift have first swing. Once they are through, release him. Give him five minutes to run, then hunt him down!"
Howls and cheers sounded off around us. "You can't do this! If it wasn't for me, none of you lot would be alive!" He yelled out, but nothing he said could stop a Luna's order.
I turned and shifted as my pack took care of him. There was only one person that wasn't affected by my orders, and that person was my mate. He had ordered Henry to stop and they followed me as I headed East. 18 miles was going to be a long run, but I was determined to get there. I was going to kill them. I let Zuri out, she howled. Her howl was powerful enough to call every Rouge to her within a 20 kilometer radius.
Unknown P.O.V
I heard the howl, a war cry. I felt pulled to it. My wolf wasn't one to respond to anything that didn't involve him, but this made him turn right around and charge toward the howl. This wolf must be one powerful wolf to make Reese stop hunting.
"I've been to many Alpha's, and not one could beat us in a fight. What's up with this one, Reese?" I linked him.
"Don't know, but I feel like I have to listen to him. His howl called for war. Not just any war either." I felt Reese pick up speed.
I could still hear the howls, but they were getting closer and closer. I noticed that there were many Rouges gathering. This was odd, because Rouges never gathered in one place. We were too violent with each other.
Reese stopped suddenly and looked up at three wolves standing on some rocks. I could tell the grey wolf who stood lower was a beta. There was a large light grey wolf standing beside a nightmare black wolf with white markings. I felt Reese submit to the power that short forth. He whimpered and tucked his tail between his hind legs. This was not normal. Who are these wolves? I can tell they are pack wolves, but I've never seen the before, nor felt power like this.
The black and white wolf stepped forward. "I know you can all hear me." Her voice sounded in my head. I couldn't help but yelp. I'd never been spoken to like this by anyone but Reese. "Hunters are close by. They have harmed my daughter, broke bones, made her deaf in one ear, raped and gave her a disease that there is no cure for. You all will come with me and hunt them down." She growled.
"How can you link us like this?" I heard another Rouge ask.
"I am half Goddess. The Grim Reaper is my father. I can do many things that a normal Luna can't do. Now, rest and we will travel to where these hunters are. We will kill them. From there, I will give you your orders." With that, I felt the link get cut.
"Reese, do you think she's lying? How can a Luna do that? How can a Luna have more power than her Alpha mate?"
"That was her wolf, her wolf wouldn't lie. We have no reason to lie, unlike you humans. Her having more power is a result of being half Goddess. I have no choice but to obey her. She's blood related to the Moon Goddess who created us, I can feel it."
I gulped. I didn't want to be anywhere near this Luna, or her pack. They all seemed frightening.
Henry's P.O.V
Ava has cut me off completely. I couldn't feel anything coming from her. I tried to link her, but she blocked that too. I could tell Zuri was in control. Ava never gave off that kind of power. "Kane, can you feel anything from Ava or Zuri?"
"No. I'm worried that the darkness is taking over the light in her soul. We have to keep a close eye on her. Levi as well. Who knows what will happen if Zuri stays this angry."
I felt torn between being a beta, and her big brother. "What do I do? Approach like a beta , or her big brother?"
"Be her big brother. That has always worked in the past."
I agreed and walked over to Zuri with my tongue lolled out of my mouth. She growled a warning, but that didn't stop me. I pounced toward her and gently pawed at her, opening my link to her once again. "What do you want, Henry!" She growled.
I whimpered, giving her puppy eyes. "I'm worried about you. I can't feel anything from you and it scares me. I want to know what you are feeling. I want to take some of the burden off you. I want to help you, Little Sister."
"I suppose I can allow you to feel what I feel, but tell me, how will you help me? What would you do to help me? I already have you with me to kill those f*****g hunters. Tell me, what more could you possibly do?"
I thought for a moment. What could I actually do for her? I can't take anger away, can I? I mean, I want to. I am her protector after all, I should be able to do something for her. Then, it dawned on me. I'm an Omega at heart. "Play with me." I blurted out.
