A couple of weeks ago Peterson recommended sending Bannister to a counterterrorism conference in Los Angeles since he was the most experienced agent on the Task Force. Bannister, however, suggested Ramirez. That was before Kendall Briggs was murdered. Everyone on the Task Force thought the investigation meant no one would go, until Witt spread the word he was considering going himself. After hearing that, Bannister suggested Stu mention to Witt that Headquarters would frown on his being away during a high-profile case and that Mercedes Ramirez was a more logical choice.
