“Every one come downstairs now!” I jolted up from my bed. My eyes filled with fear and worry as I woke up from a deep sleep. "Jennifer quickly stand up and come downstairs. Miss Lauretta is ready to eat us all alive" one of the girls in my room said as she picked up her phone to leave the room. Standing up from my bed, I held my head in pain because it felt so heavy and made me dizzy. I could feel some funky dance in my stomach and my throat, Holding tight on both of them I quickly ran into the bathroom pouring out all the content from my stomach. Jeez I feel so sick but I have no temperature. I quickly cleaned the toilet and watched my face. Tying my red hair in a messy bun, just one more minute in the room I’m sure i would be dragged out by miss lauretta’s spirit. I wonder why she wants to see us in such a bad mood all of the sudden. When I came down stairs almost everyone was already down, it was obvious almost everyone left their room in panic, because some students both boys and girls had their towel on towel while some guys still had soap on their body. Jeez this all feel inappropriate, looking at these hot blooded males with their body half naked and alluring isn’t a good way to start my morning. I tried shifting my gaze away from the guys and look at the main situation at hand but all I could was nothing due to the fact that I can’t get a clearer view because Mr Gregory was blocking my visions but it looked like he was begging. Begging for what. I kept on hearing say please and I’m sorry time to time. Oh my, could he be he tried to do it with her. Oh! Shut up you t**t dirty mind of mine. "What in the world happened last night?" She questioned angrily at all of us. Last night ? What happened last night? I stood still trying to remember what happened but at same time I felt really uncomfortable because I know I wouldn’t have ever done anything wrong even if the students had gone behind Miss Lauretta back to do something so absurd I’m not someone that likes to get into trouble or noticed. But what I don’t understand is why are multiple eyes also staring at me. She asked them a question and not me, why am I also getting looked at? **** "Sanity, sanity I say, I know you all are grown and all but that gives you no right to do crazy stuffs like what you all were doing out last night" she said looking angrily at every one of us "Thanks to the CCTV footage I got to see every disgusting thing you all did, I couldn’t even continue because that was beyond my Christianity life. Engaging in such acts before marriage is really malicious towards the word of God " "Here we go again being lectured by madam saint" Almost everyone burst out laughing. I had always thought Miss Lauretta always act uptight due to maybe her character and principle in life. Didn’t know she had such great love for the Bible and making us act like sinless adults, when it’s very normal between the white adults. In such school if she keeps this going I’m sure a lot of students here with influence will try their best to make her leave the university. She’s the main reason why some students aren’t enjoying their trip like they imagined it to be anyway. "Who dared to say that!" Miss Lauretta said obviously angered. Everyone looking between themselves, waiting for the culprit to man up and take responsibility. Seeing no one was actually coming out she continued "I wouldn’t let any sort of negativity ruin the happiness and purpose of this our trip. This is not a love trip that embraces such immortality but an educational trip! You guys can continue to live the rest of your lives being immoral and disrespectful, well I eagerly wait on seeing same attitude when I accredit your course” Oh! Boy. No no I can’t get failed on this course because of someone else’s impudence. If no one was going to speak up then I will! “Miss Lauretta! It was josh who called you that. He said it, if any one should be punish it should just be him, my grades! Our grades can’t suffer for his foolishness" Oh my God. I said it all before I could stop myself. I didn’t want to look around me because I can sense the hate all around me already. “Nice one Jennifer. I didn’t need you to show me the culprit I knew he was the one just like the one behind the mastermind of the dirty game you all played last night! " she tapped me lightly on my shoulder, squeezing a little bit hard when she said ‘last night’ Why do I keep on feeling like I contributed to the madness from last night. “You all should be careful you can get to do what you want, when you get back to school but right now you are on a trip, and it is under my rules okay!" She yelled "Yes Miss Lauretta!” Everyone said. “We apologize for our actions” "Why do we get to apologize, after all its a trip and most of us i’m sure are already adults so I don't think we need to be careful of what our bodies require us to do" asked Juliana stupidly at Miss Lauretta "Yes she's right" added Josh Miss Lauretta looked from josh to Juliana "If I wanted to create a porn House I am sure that would had been stated before you all came along but if you all listened clearly I said a trip and when I say trip I mean an educative and GODLY TRIP!!!" she yelled, causing some of us to take a step back. "Mr Gregory I must say I am very disappointed in what you did you know it was very wrong of you" "Forgive me Miss" "Whatever" she shunned him, I felt bad for him right now. "Today we are going out to the museum to know more about this place and also visiting some villages around here. After then we all go to the polo club to have some decent fun" We clapped at her announcement, after all we where going out. It’s better than staring at her face while she gives us another lecture. "And after then we are going to eat out in a fancy restaurant" added Mr Gregory. "Yeah!" Some students yelled happily while leaving to go get ready for the day. **** VICTORIA MEMORIAL MUSEUM After we were done with our self preparation at Mr Davis mansion, we arrived at the Victoria memorial museum, Kolkata. The placed looked classy at the same time old. The museum educator came out to welcome and show us around. “Namaste, my name is Yashica Brahmbhatt. I will be showing you all around” Mrs Yashica was a brown skinned lady dressed heavily in her Indian attire, real gold sparkled from the jewelry she had on. She was round and almost short in height but very beautiful and welcoming with her charisma and attitude “The Victoria Memorial is a large marble building in Kolkata, West Bengal, India, which was built between 1906 and 1921. It is dedicated to the memory of Queen Victoria, then Empress of India, and is now a museum under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture. The memorial lies on the Maidan grounds by the bank of the Hooghly River, near Jawaharlal Nehru Road. In January 1901, on the death of Queen Victoria, The 1st Baron Curzon of Kedleston later created The 1st Marquess Curzon of Kedleston, the then Viceroy of India, suggested the creation of a fitting memorial. Lord Curzon proposed the construction of a grand building with a museum and gardens.” She pointed at some large grey photos on the wall. Queen Victoria looked so dominating but like a virtuous leader too. Taking a look at some pictures of the constructions of the memorial in progress to how it got to it’s finishing was all amusing. I jotted down some few important things I learnt about the place on my note pad while listening, taking pictures of some beautiful artifacts that we got to see too. “...the Prince of Wales, later King George V, laid the foundation stone on 4 January 1906, and it was formally opened to the public in 1921. In 1912, before the construction of the Victoria Memorial was finished, King George V announced the transfer of the capital of India from Calcutta to New Delhi. The Victoria Memorial was built in what would be a provincial city rather than a capital, it was funded by Indian states, individuals of the British Raj and the British government in London. The princes and people of India responded generously to Lord Curzon's appeal for funds, and the total cost of construction of the monument, amounting to one crore, five lakhs of rupees, was entirely derived from their voluntary subscriptions” she pointed at another large black and white portrait on the wall to show us more of the physical history “The construction of the Victoria Memorial was delayed by Curzon's departure from India in 1905 with a subsequent loss of local enthusiasm for the project, and by the need for testing of the foundations. The Victoria Memorial's foundation stone was set in 1906 and the building opened in 1921.The work of construction was entrusted to Messrs. Martin & Co. of Calcutta. Work on the superstructure began in 1910. After 1947, when India gained independence, additions were made” she paused taking a breathe before giving us her welcoming smile “Are enjoying this?” “Of course we are!” Miss lauretta said. Aside from it being interesting to her it was to me too and I’m sure other students would be having so much fun hearing such great content. “What’s the design of this museum all about?” A male student asked. I don’t need to take a turn I know who’s voice it was. My honey bunny, Christopher. “Okay. The design is in the Indo-Saracenic revivalist style which uses a mixture of British and Mughal elements with Venetian, Egyptian, Deccani and Islamic architectural influences.” She answered “Is there something else you guys love to know?” Looking around the young adults for a question, when she saw no one was asking she moved on “Alright then I would leave you all to explore the galleries, The Victoria Memorial has 25 galleries. These include the royal gallery, the national leaders gallery, the portrait gallery, central hall, the sculpture gallery, the arms and armoury gallery and the newer, Calcutta gallery. Have fun touring as much as you. I think I can be excused now?” “Yes you can thanks a lot for such a wonderful enlightenment about this breath taking museum” Miss lauretta said We all curtsied to to thank her before left “Namaste!” Touring through the galleries was a thrilling fun, the security of the place was quite tight because we were restricted from entering some secluded parts of it but this museum was amazing. I have to research more about the place and the history of Queen victoria when I get back to the university. *** After we were done at the museum we were given a tour around the Mumbai city. It was nice and cool, the people welcomed us in with respect, they even showed us around to few places that where not usually known by foreigners. And what was more beautiful about it was that they were having a happy colour day they called it Holi. Holi is a Hindu festival that takes place in March every year and is the celebration of the victory of good over evil. Holi is often called the Festival of Colors due to the countrywide chaotic colored-power fight that takes place on this day of boisterous celebrations. The legend behind Holi begins with the demon Holika who was defeated by the hero Prahlada under the guidance of Lord Vishnu. To celebrate the destruction of the demon, on the night of the full moon in March a statue of Holika is symbolically burned and the death of the demon is celebrated the following day with color fights, laughing, dancing, singing, and parades. This is one of my favorite Indian festival. I always got to watch it on their Bollywood series. Everyone was dancing and singing with colors all over their white clothing's and faces. The contagious joy and laughter they all had was so beautiful that I had to take photography of it. Just then some young teens passing by poured colours on Miss Lauretta and screamed ‘happy holi’ before running away to join their families and friends. Miss lauretta looked like a clown, an angry clown. We muffled our laughter still we couldn't contain it in. She got so angry, I think she cursed out a little too and stormed off from our sight. But we have Mr Gregory and James with us so we weren't worried. As we were about moving to a safer spot, just then some kids attacked Juliana and Chris with colours, which was pretty awful. We laughed hardly due to the fact that Juliana looked like she was going to cry any moment from now. Chris just laughed it off taking some colours from the tray and then he threw some at josh which earned him a growl from him. Josh got angry and tossed it back at him. Lilian and Collins were looking like a happy couple laughing at the scenario at the girls who decided to get themselves stained with colours. To save myself from this, I wanted to follow Miss Lauretta footsteps so I could be saved from staining my white gown and just then a big tray of colours poured on me. From my head to my toe It was my favorite dress, I was so angry and when I turned back to look at the culprit I saw Christopher smiling at me with an empty tray then he winked at me, everything was in a slow motion before my sight and in my head, my heart was pumping so hard with warmth from what he du leaving me aghast before him and Josh decided to go on and attack Lilian and Collins. Oh yeah! My heart is singing that favorite band song now. Thump thump thump thump thump thump I am so stupid in love. Well it seems everyone has gotten themselves stained with colors one way or the other, why not have some fun? We all started throwing different shades of colour at each other till we where sure we have had enough. *** "I am sure our eat out is going to get cancelled then due to the fact we are all looking like a bleached animal" stated Mr Gregory We laughed hardly, knowing so well it was true. “More like aliens” Miss Lauretta said “That too” Mr James agreed "So that means we are going to head back to the suite and have our meals" "I don’t see any problem with that” said Thompson "We are fine with it" added josh "And if you all are forgetting, we have already booked an appointment with the polo club and that can not be missed" stated Miss Lauretta, while she tried to get some colours off her hair with a wet towel "But I think we have to get to the spa and get waxed, because we surely have to get this colour off like you all have to look at yourself, I must say you look like a bleached animal" she laughed. For the first time Miss Lauretta laughed. We laughed along with her, later on our ride came and we all got into separate cars, the boys with sir James and Gregory while the girls with Miss Lauretta. We arrived at the polo club in the mid afternoon after we got the color washed away from our skin at the spar. I was scared due to the fact that I wasn't that great at riding horses, I was scared sh*tless but I didn't want other students to know about my phobia on riding horses, only Lilian did know . She told me to just listen that I'd be good. Miss Lauretta rode her horse perfectly well and she was so happy due to the fact that handsome Mr Gregory rode with her. Mr James didn't look too happy but he didn't show it he just focused on assisting other students who wanted to ride next, he was obviously flirting with one of the female student from the trip. More horses were coming out from the stables for us to pick and ride with. It was Juliana turn; she made sure she had to show everyone how perfectly she was at riding a horse. And I must say she rode the beast good, everyone started picking up their choices of horse and mounted on it, riding to their satisfaction. Lilian never wanted to ride too but Collins forced her being ignorant of my personal condition, but I told her it was fine by me if she rode a horse so she wouldn't feel guilty. The scene was very beautiful with everyone riding, and the few that didn't know getting assisted. Even if I was asked to ride and get assisted I would decline because I was very terrified of horses, like this creature was too big and scary looking around, the highest I could do was feed them some apples and grasses. "Why aren't you riding?" When I turned back I saw Christopher beside me holding the reins of the brown horse he was riding before. "Uh nothing , I don't just feel like riding a horse today but I can feed them" I laughed nervously. He didn't seem convinced at my response, his grey eyes were just starring down at me. "You sure?" "Yeah I am sure, I just want to feed them" I said while feeding a white baby horse an apple. My toes were curling and my heart was racing at same time. I couldn’t believe that Chris was in a conversation with me. I am so nervous of my feelings for him, maybe I am not ugly like I always think. "Come touch my horse" he asked "What?" I asked him, I wasn't sure I heard him clearly. "I said you should touch my horse" "Ha-ah i’m not sure I can Chris, I think I am okay where I am" "Don't tell me you are scared of horses Jennifer" he asked me worriedly but I couldn’t see him smirking mischievously at me. "I’m not! " I assured him "Then come touch my horse" he said bringing the tall beast my way. I almost peed at his actions, I quickly ducked and moved far away from him and his horse. He laughed hardly at me "You know you are filled with surprises Jennifer, be scared or whatever you call it, you are surely going to ride my horse cutie" he drawled seductively at me •••• Whenever Chris speaks about riding horses, my mind waver somewhere nasty. ?
