Chapter Three
I was sure that I wasn't seeing right because there was no way these three condescending beings that I hated the most were now standing before me! Maybe I was dreaming and maybe I was just hallucinating and that was the reason why I was seeing something that was unreal.
The screams and cheerful chants from the crowd snapped me back to my senses and at that moment, I knew that I wasn't dreaming nor was I hallucinating because everything that was happening before my very eyes were real and damn real.
They had this cold look on their faces and I knew that they were still holding a grudge against each other. All the maids sauntered toward them with their heads lowered in reverence for them. I was too shocked to even grasp that I also must show them respect and lower my head before them as well.
All the memories that I have been trying to forget suddenly flooded my head and I could swear that I was about to have a panic attack just by remembering how cruel and brutal they were to almost everyone. My stomach tied a knot and it felt like bile rose to my throat as I covered my hands with my mouth before I threw up and made a mess of myself.
I quickly dashed inside the mansion and rushed to the restroom where I puked. Heaving a sigh of relief, I stood to my feet and sauntered toward the washing hand basin as I splashed water on my face. I was about to duck my head and splash water on my face again when I caught sight of my reflection in the mirror.
There was nothing special about me. Just nothing!
I had these feline eyes with dark circles underneath them. Then I also had an open wound that was right at the corner of my eye and that must have been caused by the girls who bullied me earlier. I removed the band around my wrist while reaching my hands for the brown hair that tumbled over my shoulders as I tied it into a big messy bun.
Pathetic! That was the only word that came through my mind as I stared at my pathetic self in the mirror.
My eyes crossed in exasperation as I made my way to the door.
"I just hope that things go on well and I hope that Andre and I never cross part tonight and I hope that he has changed" I muttered under my breath.
I ambled to the kitchen in a bid to tell the head servant that I wasn't feeling too well and I would like to retire for the night but I had hardly stepped foot into the kitchen when someone grabbed me by the wrist and shoved a tray right into my hands.
"Amelia, you do know that you shouldn't be wandering around the house tonight! This is an important occasion and Luna would take no excuses" The head servant, Mrs. Cara, patted me on the back gently.
"B-But, I....." I stuttered.
"No buts!" She interjected while shooting me a glare.
I forced out a smile as I quickly ducked my head and made my way to the hall where the guests were present.
The clinking of glasses and the chatter that emanated from the guest echoed through the room. The ambient lighting in the hall classically beautified the whole hall.
I swallowed the lump that formed in my throat as I searched my eyes for the three Alphas but I couldn't find them anywhere. I heaved a sigh of relief with the hope that they could have left already.
"Maybe they just wanted to show an appearance!" I thought inwardly while serving the guests wine with a bright smile on my face that seemed rather forced.
When I saw that the Luna was looking in my direction, I smiled widely while revealing my dental. When she took her gaze off me, I heaved a sigh of relief and was about to return to the kitchen when I heard the clicking sound of stiletto heels that stopped right behind me.
I froze on the spot and turned to look at who it was.
It was Khloe, Sabrina, and Hailey.
My heart palpated with fear as soon as I caught sight of them and I quickly lowered my head before they created a scene.
"I am honored to see you, what do you want me to serve you?" My voice broke down as I clutched the tray that I was holding tightly till it felt like all my veins were popping out.
They all had a smirkz at the corner of their lips as Khloe shook her head while crossing her hands over her chest. "If I would be honest with you, I thought that I wouldn't see you at all today. You were lucky that you were able to slip off my fingers today if not I would have dealt with you so much"
I swallowed, trying to pick my words carefully so that I wouldn't get them angry to the extent created by a scene. "I am sorry for escaping, I am sorry and that wouldn't happen again!"
The three of them burst into a peal of hysterical laughter as they both clapped their hands dramatically at the same time with that coy smile still on their faces.
Khloe tilted her head to the left as her brows furrowed and her mouth turned grim. "Do you know what I hate about you? I hate the fact that you are apologizing to me!"
I was at a loss for words to say as I quickly ducked my head. "I am sorry!"
A scoff escaped her lips as she walked slowly toward me, almost closing the space between us. "You are sorry? Again!"
"I-I am....."
Before I could finish talking, she landed a slap across my face that caused the trays in my hands to fall to the ground while the wine glasses shattered into pieces.
My eyes widened because I knew I was doomed! The Luna was going to deal with me so much that my body would ache with pain for the rest of my life.
I glanced at her and I could see the flicker of rage in her eyes.
I quickly fell on my knees to the ground and began to pick up the pieces of glass that littered the ground.
"I-I am so sorry, please go on with your party," I said out loud for everyone to hear despite the tears that pressed at the back of my eyelids.
I was about to stand up when Khloe and her minions intentionally pushed me to the ground. I fell face flat while the shards of glass in my hands pierced into my palm.
"Arrgh" I groaned, wincing simultaneously.
I raised my head and I could see the number of stares that I had garnered already. They all stared at me with despair in their eyes and their eyes didn't hold any pity for me.
It was more like they hated me for interrupting their party.
"I am sorry!" I cried, with tears cascading down my cheeks, most especially when Luna made the 'You are dead' sign.
I stared at the shards of glasses that pierced through my palm and despite the pain that I felt at the moment, I was helpless and couldn't help but to apologize as I kept saying how sorry I was.
All of a sudden, a voice resounded in my ear, and all the murmurs seized as we all turned to look at where the voice came from.
My eyes grew wide when I saw who it was.
"I saw everything that happened so why are you sorry?" He roared as his glacial sea rover blue eyes blazed with rage.
Right behind him were Zachary and Chase.
