The Confession

On getting back to the dorm, I wondered why everywhere is this quiet not knowing that most of the guys and the girls are in my room planning a surprise for me.

Surprise!!! Everyone shouted as I opened the door into my room. I was overwhelmed and surprised literally.

Thank you everyone I said as I walked into the room.

“Hey cap Drew came out of the blue with a box in his hand; Here is your gift he said as he handed over a box to me.

Cool,my NIKES! Thanks man I said.

You know I got your back always bro Drew said feeling less guilty and relieved that he was able to get my shoes because he knew I would have been so disappointed but still, he was glad.

Someone tapped my back and it was Marbat

I changed my mind,its your big night and I dont want Tina to kill me literally she chuckled.

Well thanks, I wouldn't have killed you if you didnt come I joked.

Oh please she said and we both shared a clumsy chuckle. Her spontaneous, lyrical laugh resonated in my head. Genuine, sweet, feminine… with a hint of wicked.

Wanna get out of here? Lets go for a walk I said

Yes please.

I grab my jacket and we both made for the door and headed outside the dorm.

So, I dont really know much or anything about you I said as we walked along the street lights of the campus.

What do you want to know, I will grant you three questions she smiled.

Three questions? thats unfair I said.

Well, are you or are you not going to ask she stared right into my eyes. Her eyes were really beautiful under the moon reflection, I almost drowned in them. I got lost in time just staring back at her and it was the snapped of her fingers that brought me back to reality.

Well we havent have much conversation either I said and we both laughed.

What really happened between you and your boyfriend because I cant really find any faults in you. What happened? I asked.

I dont really want to talk about it, maybe some other day she said.

Wait a min, is the captain of the basketball team asking me on a date right now?

Well, I have to think about it first. You know I dont go to the cinema with guys that aint cute she smiled sheepishly.

I have no idea until now, tell me what else you dont do so that I can write them down since it seems you have lots of Dos and Donts I said sarcastically.

Dont worry, they are not much she laughed. I really didn't think I could be having this random conversation with her. She's looking really pretty tonight I said in my head.

"I got a confession" I said staring into her deep blue coloured eyes. It was silent for a moment, you could hear the dazzling leafs that were blown by the wind.

Okay? You got my attention already but you still not saying anything she said bursting the silence.

I'm dumbfounded and lost of words when you look at me like that, when you smile and when you laugh, I want to pause everything at the moment so that I could stare at you all day long. Call it bewitching,call it lovestruck but ever since I firstly saw you in that Cafe, you have constantly being on my mind. Yeah I got chickened out a bit to talk to you at first, clearly we are not of the same world. Your world is different from mine but still I want to get close to you even if I knew it wasn't possible. Thank my lucky stars that night you walked into that door at the party, I have this feeling heaven was on my side. Then I heard you just broke up with your boyfriend too. I know my timing is way off and I know we just met not long but I couldn't help myself when you smile and laugh like that.

Marbat didn't say anything for almost what seems like forever in my head but it was just a few seconds. She walked up straight to me, looked into my eyes and noticed my whiskey eyes surrounded by dark lashes which swept over her from head to toe and back again. Sharply angled jaw, brown hair, a few shades lighter than my stubbled beard which was a few weeks past due for a trim. Yes I know, I am an easy catch with the girls. I couldn't help myself but to hold her by the waist and pulled her body closer to mine.

"Can I kiss you?" I said feeling her warm soft palms on my cheeks.

She stood on her toes and bit my lower lips softly. Her lips were soft, almost silken, and pillowy against my own. I could feel the soft tickle of her breath beneath my nose, fingers carding through her hair as we breathed each other in. Our bodies pressed together heatedly, breathing heavily as our lips pressed together. I could taste our shared breath. Then she looked into my eyes and says "no one has ever said this to me,thank you" she blushed.

It was a really long night and we held hands throughout the night as walked under the moonlit field.

I accompanied her back to her dorm and she invited me to come in but I declined saying I have to go back to my place. A party was thrown to celebrate my victory, it will be bad if I don't at least go back to it.

Good night Marbat Luke, what time should we meet for the movies I said.

I'm having class in the morning but I should be free by noon. Meet me at the school café by 3pm.

3PM it is I said. I waved at her and walked back to my dorm. I was really feeling good. Excitement radiating all-over my face.

It was already late midnight and the party was still on. I got lots on my mind. I drank a bit with the guys before I went into the room. "What an amazing night I said as I dozed off to sleep.

The next day which is Monday, most of the guys were having hangovers and I couldn't see Drew anywhere. Maybe he didn't sleep here I said to myself.
