Chapter Nine

As Alpha King Augustus waited patiently in his throne room for Felix and Harold, his most trusted Gamma and Beta subordinates, his mind began to wander once again towards the Rodriguez family and the heap of drama they had decided to drop on his house when he had married a member of their family.
He placed his well muscled arm on his throne which was made mostly from the bones of his defeated enemies mixed together by a very popular craftsman who had been more than happy to serve the ruthless king. However, the ruthless king of the sky prowler wasn't to be seen currently in the throne room, only an indecisive Alpha who did not know the next course of action to take towards Elizabeth and Alma.
He was confused as to what to do to solve his problem. Even when he was in the middle of battle with a very strong pack of wolves, he still wasn't as disturbed as he was, pondering on his immediate situation.
Alpha king Agustus, still deep in thought heard a slight knock on the door and he immediately arranged himself.
"You may enter" Alpha King Augustus announced.
The door opened and Felix, together with Harold, walked inside the throne room. When they were a few meters away from the king, they bowed their heads in recognition of his sovereignty. They sat down after a couple seconds.
"Both of you are looking rather healthy, it brings joy to my heart" Alpha King Augustus began, "I trust my factories are doing well?"
"Very well, your majesty. We are pleased to tell you we have made so much progress that we have decided to expand the territory" Felix replied with a prideful smirk on his face.
Harold cast a closer look at Alpha King Augustus' face. He noticed he did not look happy, or he was holding down thoughts that were bringing quite a deal of trouble to him mind.
"You say our news brings joy to your heart but your facial expression seems to suggest another thing, my lord, may I ask what bothers you so much your handsome face is not its usual joyful manner?" Harold asked.
Alpha king Agustus managed to put on a smile, Harold's sharp mind has been very helpful throughout the years.
"A matter has been brought before me" He said.
"And what is that, the great ruler of the sky prowler?" Felix asked.
"Apparently, Elizabeth's stepsister, and the initial woman I had chosen to be my bride, Alma, has returned to claim her place as my bride" Alpha Agustus replied.
Felix and Harold exchanged puzzled looks with each other. They did not expect the news Alpha King Augustus has spewed out of his mouth.
"Then I think Elizabeth should step down. That is the only logical solution to this problem" Felix said which caused Harold to shake his head in disapproval.
"That cannot be done. The entire kingdom know Elizabeth to be your one and only bride despite the fact that she was an imposter for her stepsister. Removing her would cause an unnecessary commotion the sky prowler does not need as of this moment" Harold argued.
Felix and Alpha King Augustus took their time to ponder on the words of Harold. They knew what he was saying was justified and based on facts.
"What then do you suggest I do!?" Alpha king Agustus asked angrily, his deep voice sounding like a thunder in the throne room.
Harold took a minute to think.
"What did Alma tell you about not being able to be your bride at the wedding?" He asked after recovering from his thoughts.
"She said she was kidn*pped and placed in a shed by Elizabeth" king Agustus replied.
Harold was confused.
"She said Elizabeth kidn*pped her?" Harold asked.
Alpha king Agustus raised an eyebrow.
"Did I stutter?"
"Forgive my consistent inquiry, but all of us in this room are well aware of Alma's strength as a wolf. She is one of female wolves that we know possess extreme strength while Elizabeth is rather weak. There is no way Elizabeth had overpowered her and kept her in a shed for a long time" Harold explained. He felt Alma was obviously lying.
Alpha king Agustus gradually began to see reason with Harold's words. He had watched Elizabeth for quite sometime and he knew she was weak and harmless. There was no way she would be able to kidnap her sister who was extremely stronger than her.
Felix shook his head. It was obvious he disagreed with Harold.
"Do not underestimate the power of innocence" Felix said.
"How do you mean?" Harold asked.
"Elizabeth has a very calm deposition and as such, she cannot be suspended of doing any wrong. This can be of good use when she wants to catch someone unaware, and in this case, Alma" Felix explained his point looking from Harold to Alpha King Augustus.
Harold was finding it hard to come to terms and argree with Felix. He was very sure Alma was lying about her kidnapp.
Alpha king Agustus thought deeply on the words of his Beta and Gamma wolves. He was still confused as to what to do concerning his bride. His mind began to wander once again. He was oblivious of what course of action to take; and this was a first. He had no other choice than to go with drastic measures.
"Honestly, I am at ends trying to figure out who is lying to my face or who is telling the truth, so what I have decided is I want both women followed as they go about their daily activities" Alpha king Agustus commanded.
"I want to know what they are doing at every moment of each passing hour. Felix, you are to follow Elizabeth while Harold you are to follow Alma. I want both of you to report to me at the end of the each day."
Felix and Harold stood up from their chairs and bowed to King Augustus before taking their leaves to carry out their respective orders. King Agustus was determined to get to the root of the matter.
