Oh my God! He can never be that flaccid Travis Perez I was once knew and yes—I foolishly played! How many years had been passed but those crazy memories played nightmares to me—and he just can’t be him.
Napalunok ako as I followed his trails on the altar. I don’t know but I’m not ready yet to lose everything. First time that I feared losing material things in my life! Hindi ako sanay na maghirap kami!
Yes, I often heard my parents talked about company problems and bankruptcy issues but I anticipated less and now the situation is already deteriorated—still, they never told me!
“Are you both now ready to start the ceremony?”
The priest’s query startled me! Hindi ko rin napansin na magkatabi na pala kami ng lalake na walang kangiti-ngiting nakatingin sa’kin.
“I guess, she’s ready now. Are you, Cahira?”
Jesus! He couldn’t be Travis, right?! I barely heard what he said coz I’m dumbfounded by how he looks now kung siya nga talaga si Travis.
Dammit! Is he? Kung siya man ay sadyang mapaglaro nga ang tadhana—I never thought about crossing my path to him ever again!
But I never thought he’ll be this rich and deadly handsome and knowing him way back high school—I thought he’s a rich man!
I noticed his familiar mole on his lips that I used to hate ‘coz I find it attractive—yes but I never admitted that secret attraction that I awfully can’t accept.
Hazel eyes and that mole! That’s why he’s really familiar! Oh my God.. He couldn’t be..
Flashback:
“So, you guys have guessed your partners? Eehh.. I wish that’ll be Nick!” Tili ko as we queued for our entrance on stage para sa Junior and Senior promenade in Ferrer State of Colleges.
“Jeez.. How I wish we’ll all be paired to our crushes!” Kinikilig na wika ni Ella in which the two girls, Zara and Faye approved.
“Fire Princess will be paired to his Ice Prince.” The MC announced my pen name as I made my entrance. Inayos ko ang aking mascara as I waited for my partner to come up on stage and there he was.
Prince Ice, huh?
Isang matangkad na lalake na naka-black suit and neat neck tie ang sumundo sa’kin as his familiar physique caught me.
But it’s quiet impossible to guess who this could be dahil sa mask nito—and I’m definite this isn’t Nick!
“Who are you?” Walang gatol kong sabi and noticed his adam’s apple went up and down. Nasa gitna na kami ng dance floor as the music started.
He didn’t respond and instead caught me off guard when he instantly held my tiny waist and did the rehearsed waltz dance. I felt so uneasy!
“Ice prince, your majesty.” Kumunot ang noo ko sa sagot niya. He’s clearly not Nick—as I was hoping to be paired tonight!
I noticed his mole just below his cute-lady-like lips. Men having that kind of mole will always be sexy and attractive to me!
But, he seemed so skinny!
I hate skinny men! Naalala ko yung si Travis Perez noong isang araw when he just bumped at me and gave me three roses that I instantly junked right in front of him dala na rin sa inis na naramdam ko against Nathan and Marie.
I made Travis my punching bag that morning at kahit favorite ko yung red roses ay nagawa ko talagang sirain!
“Don’t play dumb, whoever you are! I was asking your real name, ano ba?” Singhal ko sa kanya.
There I also noticed his hazel iris that made me thought more about Travis—oh wait, is this..really Travis Perez!?
Tinulak ko siya palayo sa’kin at kahit hindi pa natapos ang togtog ay gusto ko ng umalis. Gusto ko kasing batukan ang sarili ko ngayon for admiring his mole below his lips and his sexy hazel eyes—but presuming that this is Travis!?
That skinny limp man who always wore his big-rounded eye glasses and lose shirts!? Oh No..
“Oh, just don’t tell me!” I told him and walked out on the dance floor. Hindi ko alam kung saan ako pupunta, I just walked!
“Aira, wait up!” Hinabol pa talaga niya ako, huh! Dali-dali akong naglakad patungong parking lot where I planned to go home as early as now! Yes—gusto ko ng umuwi!
“Ano ba! Why are you following me around, Travis Perez!? Are you stalking at me, huh?” Naiinis kong tinanggal ang aking mascara saka ko siya hinarap. He did also took off his mask and I was stunned when I faced a handsome man!
“I-I’m sorry, Aira—I wasn’t stalking at you. I’m sorry kung hindi mo nagustohan na ako ang partner mo—just don’t ruin your night just because of me.”
He’s really apologizing, huh? But my night was all ruined!
Hindi dahil sa kanya—it was clearly because of me! Naiinis ako sa sarili ko ngayon! God knows how I dislike Travis Perez for he’s overconfidently showing his affection towards me kahit ilang beses ko na siyang binabastos—he doesn’t mind!
“My night was already ruined, Travis—you already did!” Sabi ko saka ako naiinis na tumalikod at hinanap ang sasakyan ko sa parking area.
Oh God! What’s wrong with me!? Yes I secretly complimented that he hid his good-looking looks behind that huge big-rounded glasses. He has this alluring hazel eyes and God—his mole, I really do find it so..attractive!
I found him..pretty handsome tonight—yes! But No! This attraction for just one night is so pathetic and my friends will gonna kill me with much tease if I’ll let them know—grr..
Nakakainis ka Travis! Sigaw ko sa aking isipan as I slammed the door shut and locked myself inside my car.
“Ay, maam! Nandyan na po pala kayo!” Mang Danny exclaimed na nasa likuran pala ng sasakyan at napaidlip.
“Uwi po na tayo, Mang Danny.” My God! Ba’t ba sobra akong nagpapaapekto sa isang Travis Perez!?
Yuck, Cahira! I could hear now my friend’s dreadful reaction! Urgg.. Nakakainis naman ‘to! Ba’t siya pa ang naging partner ko? My God.. How unlucky I was!
“Ah, wait po Mang Danny! I have changed my mind.” Mang Danny was about to start the engine when I halt him up and hastily get off my car.
Damn it! He’s just Travis—how could he ruined my night when he’s eventually nothing! I reprimanded myself for over-reacting at the situation.
Pumasok ulit ako sa loob ng magarang hall where everyone was now occupying their respective area and yes—together with our partners but no way I’ll be seating beside him!
“Girl, over here!” Kumaway sa’kin sina Ella, Zara and Faye na nasa iisang table lang together with their partners and immediately detoured my feet.
“Excuse me, you see that guy over there with an empty chair beside him?” Sabi ko nang makalapit ako sa partner ni Faye na hindi ko kilala.
“Y-Yes?” I was referring to Travis who was just two tables apart.
“You go there!” Singhal ko sa kanya at saka tumalima naman. He totally knew who I am, huh! Nahirapan ang akong umupo dahil sa balloon kung ball gown.
“Have you guessed your partner, Cahira?” Halos sabay na tanong sa’kin ng tatlo that made me annoyed more.
“It’s Travis Perez—and I hate it! Totally!” Sabi ko and crossed my arms and looked away to their teasing eyes.
“Really? That guy?” Wika ni Zara in her amused tone. Really!? Jeez, Zara! Don’t you freak me out with compliments!
“Talaga?! Si Travis yan? My God.. I totally noticed him coz he definitely looked hot, huh! Though, he’s kinda slim..” That was Faye at parang kinikilig pa! What the hell is wrong with them!?
“You’re freaking me out! Showering compliments to that baggy guy, really? Oh, don’t tell me you, too Ella, huh?” I exasperatingly stated at the three girls. How could they give such peculiar compliment on that guy in front of my face?
“Uh, I.. Yeah—to be honest, alright? I find him..attractive?” The hell!? Anong nakain ng mga ‘to!?
It was like my eyes were about to blast!
“You all freaking me out.. I’m definitely scared!” Sabi ko when the MC announced the next phase of the prom.
“All the gentlemen are requested to please give one rose to your partner and slowly move here at the center for the royal dance.” Majority of the crowd cheered but I was eventually terrified.
You’ve gotta be kidding me! I exclaimed when all the three of my friends went to the dance floor with their partners and left me with a teasing mark!
Grr…No way I’ll be dancing again with Travis! Pero heto at kami nalang dal’wa ang naiwang sa aming mga mesa. He clearly doesn’t want to cross his path on me! Mabuti at alam na niya ngayon!
“Okay, everyone.. I see a pair who’s not participating tonight.” I was startled when the MC stated and really moved closer to where we were. Ahhh! Gusto ko atang sumigaw ng paglakas-lakas!
I should have left!
Ang lahat ang nagbubulong-bulongan and stopped dancing! Ano ba naman tong si Sir Ryan—this gay teacher is just so fussy!
“Where’s your partner, Ice prince?” Sir Ryan asked to that lame Travis and I already felt my hands cold and shivering.
“She’s nowhere to be found, sir Ryan.” He sadly said na sinang-ayunan naman ng mga madla.
Hah! Parang lahat ng mga tao umaayon sa kanya ngayon huh? Porque’t nakasuot siya ng American Suit—really!?
“She’s just behind you—you just need to find her. Go and give your rose.” Lumakas ang tuksohan at hiyawan sa loob ng hall at hindi na ako mapakali sa kinauupoan ko when he immediately stood up and noticed that he held a rose in his hand.
I almost couldn’t breathe when he gradually approach me as the crowd went crazy over us. Ano ba ‘to! Hindi ko mawari kung anong nararamdaman ko ngayon!
Kanina lang, I was very furious at him but now—I felt butterflies fluttering inside my stomach. He just kneeled nang makalapit siya!
“Can I have this dance, Fire Princess?” He cordially asked as I’ve seen it in his dazzling hazel eyes behind his mask.
Oh my God.. What will I do!?
My brained totally jammed and can’t process at the moment but my body made their own move. My shaking hands accepted the rose and he held my hand to stand.
Nagpalakpakan ang lahat ng mga studyanteng nasa gitna ng dance floor and the music started again as Travis once circled his arms around my waist and there..I started dancing and I don’t know why I find it—magical..
