The shrill, persistent sound of my phone ringing yanked me out of sleep. Groaning, I reached over to grab it from the nightstand, my eyes still heavy and unfocused. Without even checking the screen, I pressed it to my ear. “Hello?” I mumbled, my voice thick with sleep. “Vivian,” my boss’s voice cut through, sharp and annoyed. “We need to talk about yesterday.” I sat up, rubbing my eyes.
