Chapter 16: Vivian

1236 Words

I sat at my desk, the crime scene photos spread out in front of me like a puzzle I was trying to solve. Each image stared back at me—bodies posed in unnatural positions, deaths made to look like accidents, but I knew something more sinister was at play. The autopsy reports were clear—these weren’t accidental deaths. The victims had been murdered, but whoever was behind it was trying to cover their tracks. And they were doing a good job—mostly. I’d been pouring over these cases for hours, trying to see the pattern, the link between them. As I shuffled through the photos, the answer began to form in my mind. It wasn’t just the details of each death that struck me, it was the difference between them. There was a distinct contrast in how these scenes were staged, how the bodies were found.
