Marc's POV My head was killing me when I woke up in the van. Sliding out of it I saw Ben, Cooter, and Eric. The rest of them I did not know. I heard Holly before I saw her. "I will help you," the scarred guy voiced surprisingly to everyone but me. "Why?" Holly asked. "He owes me his life." My rough voice managed before Holly flew into my arms. I wrapped her just as tightly. "You okay firecracker?" I kissed the top of her head. "Just fine now," Holly spoke A she grabbed me around the neck pulled her lips to mine. When we came up for air I had my stupid lopsided grin in place. Ben brought up Holly's dad and she scoffed it off as nothing more than his paranoia. I only come back was "it was a long storm." It had been the longest four days of my life. I never tried so hard to control the emotions that were raging inside of me with her around. Ben got us in the van and added Alex. I was a bit surprised until I heard what Ben had whispered to Holly. They were going to do a DNA, test to see they were related. We drove in silence for a while. I filtered back through the events that happened to us to get us in the vans. I was running along the treeline and saw the motorcycles coming. I pulled the gun to shoot and felt a huge smack to the back of the head. Using my fingers I touched the back of it to realize just how bad it hurt. Pulling my fingers away, I saw some blood on them. "Fuckers," I grumble wiping my hand on my pants. "You bleeding?" I heard Alex stop looking at Holly to glance at me. "Yeah, who the hell hit me?" I groaned feeling the massive headache start. "Kevin used one of the cut tree branches," Alex mentioned off handily. "I will use a tree branch on him when I get back," Holly growled. "Easy firecracker," wrapping her in a hug trying to ease some of her anger. "Easy my ass, I am gonna wring his neck." She tried to wiggle out of my arms. Instead, I tilted her chin up with my index finger and soundly kissed her. The look in her eyes, when I pulled back told me it had done the job I wanted. She cuddled up into my arms and just held onto me. "I see you seemed to have laid claim to each other." Alex looked slightly irritated at it. "Yes, Marc is mine," Holly announced as if it was stupid to voice their thought. Alex in turn held his hand up in surrender, "Just stating what I noticed." He said with a smirk. Silence happened the rest of the drive to the hospital an hour away in Springerville. We all seemed to be in our heads. Nobody said a word. Once at the hospital, each of us was taken off in a different direction. I was taken to the MRI ward, where they looked at my brain. I had a concussion. They told me lots of rest and to take the antibiotics they prescribed. Plus gave me a tetanus shot since I couldn't remember the last time I had one. They placed me in a room, telling me I was under observation until they could agree my head was fine. I was going stir crazy. I wanted Holly with me. A knock hit the door as I was thinking about just roaming the halls. "Come in," I snapped thinking it was the doctor. I had no idea how long I had been here now. "Well, a concussion is way better than getting shot." Ben's voice came through the door. Holly, Eric, Cooter, and Alex just behind him. "Yeah, but I want out of this box," I whined. Holly crawled up on the bed with me, to snuggle. She didn't, say a word. I raised my brow to the guys. "She is my half-sister," Alex confirmed. Holly was, getting dragged through some s**t. Getting kidnapped, having one guy that kidnapped you be a half brother to the mom who left you to run away. That was some serious f****d up s**t. I pulled her into my arms and held her close. Marion burst through the door then. "Where is...," her voice trailed off as she saw Holly in my arms. "I am gonna hint up some chocolate." Marion turned on her heel and headed back out the doors. "We need a plan to finish this," Cooter announced. "I have a plan," Holly grunted in my arms. "I just need a minute to sort some s**t out." The men all nodded. "We will go see about getting you discharged from here Marc." Eric the Sheriff piped up. "Thank you," I tipped my head up a bit in a mini salute. I was not going to let go of Holly right now. The guys filed out of the room, Alex paused at the door with a sad look on his face. I shook my head and use it to tell him out. "You wanna talk?" I asked her. "Yes and no," Holly groaned into my chest and she thumped her head against it. "You wanna know why she left you and stayed with them?" I voiced it for her. "Yes," then Holly burst into tears. "Why?" She sobbed. "I don" t know but, when this is done we will go to her house and ask her." Holding her right to me as I planted kisses all over her face. "You're not gonna let me feel sorry for myself are you?" Holly's brown puffy eyes looked up at me. "Nope, it wouldn't have made you the same." I grinned, I adored this woman. "But my dad would not have been so miserable," She whimpered curling back into my chest. "Things go ways we don't expect, we just have to move forward one step at a time." I kissed her temple again. "Plus that means you have a half-sister." I winked. Holly's eyes got wide. "A sister," she breathed as her eyes got wide.
