Back Alley Brawl

1124 Words
Holly's POV I stepped into the alley to clear my head. Marc was still in there. Eating his third plate of my food. How he got three tickets I had no idea. I leaned against the wall, just wanting to cool my emotions down. It lasted all of five seconds. "Oh look, little miss goody two shoes." I heard one of Kevin's goons say. They were banging on pots and pans, that had been thrown out. I glanced to my right and left and seen a trash can lid, grabbed it as one threw a pot right at me. I bounced it off the trash can lid like a shield. "Seriously you guys need to stop." I looked for Kevin but did not see him. "Oh, we don't plan to stop until you are in our hands. We are gonna make sure we wring every drop of fun out of you." The tallest, brown nasty hair and his beady green eyes. "Well, I hope you plan to fight for it." I snapped back. "You and fun don't exist in my world." "Oh, we are gonna show you a fun as you have never felt." There was a wicked look in his eyes. "Grab her!" He yelled. Before they could get too far, the side door slammed open covering me as I heard a fist smack flesh, there was a big fight. Pushing the door back off me, I stepped around in time to see Marc landing a massive right hook to Mr. beady eyes. He flew back and landed on a pile of garbage bags. The other two grabbed their collars, kicking their legs out and slamming them both to the ground. A massive boom was felt when they hit the ground. He got up and I realized Ben had been with him. "You ok?" Ben turned to ask me. "Yeah," I stood starry-eyed at Marc. He was a damn beast. It tickled something in me that made me giddy. "Wigopa, they didn't touch you did they?" I heard my father's worried words. "No," I breathed. Looking back at Marc's intense honey-colored stare. "Did you call the sheriff?" Marc looked at Ben. "I did," He nodded. Just as the Sheriff parked along the side of the open alley. "Who am I taking in?" He looked at Marc and the other guys knocked out on the ground. "The three idiots went after Holly again," Ben replied. "I had Marc subdue them, I am getting too old for these young guys," Ben smirked. "Got it," the sheriff looked at me and said, "Call me later and let me know what happened." He nodded. He could see I was still holding the trash can lid. I turned around and put it back. Marc, I watched helped the Sheriff load them in a pile on the backseat. Everyone else I noted went back inside. Leaving Marc and me in the alley, as the Sheriff left too. "Thank you," I looked down at the ground. Marc tilted my chin up with his finger. "Glad to help." He smiled, I could see his eyes change a little as he looked at me. I gulped, my body was going weak, that one touch was causing circuits to fry. "Why do you help?" I breathed. "Because I like to help you," he emphasized the word you. I felt him get closer, I was against the wall. I swallowed again. "That doesn't answer my question," I mutter. Looking at how close he is to me. His breath a mix of mint and gumbo, fanning across my face. "How about this then," Marc's knuckle holding my chin up a bit higher as his lips came down softly and gently. It didn't last long as soon as his lips landed they came away. His knuckle left my chin to bop me on my nose. "Let's get you back inside." Placing his hand on the small of my backfire shot through my body as he opened the door and led me back inside. *********** Marc's POV *********** I controlled the urge to pound those idiots in the ground but said control was lost at the look Holly had on her face. I kissed her, keeping it light and quick so the urge to rip her clothes off stayed off the table. Anything more, and my control would be shot. It had been 8 years since I had a woman. Pretty long given most men. But after I was out I didn't feel the need to dabble in that. Most men after go out and find something, I didn't want it. But, I will be damn if I didn't want to wrap Holly around me and not let her go. "You sure you are ok?" Her dad asked. "Yeah, I am fine not the first time those idiots have tried anything." She shook her head and smiled. "Let's find out who is the first and second prize, everyone." I heard an older man say standing up he had a plaid shirt and a scruffy white beard to match his hair. "For a second place, we have Debbie with her always famous chili." I watched him and her share a quiet moment. It was cute. I almost wanted to look at Holly, but I kept my eyes straight ahead. "First place with her Cajun gumbo is Holly! Well done!" Everyone clapped and smiled. "I am not sure what to say, I have never won this and was not expecting to. But thank you, everyone! Please give good applause to everyone else who spent their daily cooking. Thank you all!" She was grinning ear to ear. Ben and her dad were up there congratulating her. I stood back, I was not going to invade the event with my wild emotions. Too many people here, I am sure others would see the tension we created. The food was packed up by some of the local church members as they finished up I seen Holly's arms loaded trying to get out the door. I held it open for her. "Thank you, could you get my truck door too." She asked. I was pretty sure she didn't know it was me. I opened the truck door for her, as she placed the things inside. "Th..thank you." Yep, she had no clue. I chuckled. "Welcome, congrats on your win," I smiled leaning against the side of her truck. "You helped. How did you get three tickets?" She tilted her head to the side curious like a puppy. "Paid for three and got three." I shrugged. "Your only supposed to have one. So who gave you three?" Her cute little brows furrowed together... "Not telling, let's just say I know a guy," I grinned.
